Well blending horror and comedy together is almost always a failed task, Evil Dead 2 is able to bring it together extremely well with smart and witty lines mixed in with the blood and guts. While it loses some of the charm of the first movie's low budget, it makes up for it with its hilarious at times, gruesome at others style that will you wishing for more. Especially at its ending, which is a brilliant and fitting end off while also being a great cliffhanger.

A wonderfully batshit crazy thrill ride that is even more ambitious than its predecessor. The camerawork is even more dynamic, the violent horror set pieces are even more grand, the special effects are even more creatively grotesque, the slapstick physical comedy is way funnier, and the overall production value is much higher thanks to its studio funding. Ash is a much more confident, badass, and humorous character this time with a terrific improvement from Bruce Campbell. He has so much charisma and campy energy to his performance that must’ve been a very physically demanding role. Admittedly, the side characters are still kind of flat/annoying and Sam Raimi’s fetish for women screaming can get pretty irritating after a while. But this does little to damper the fun from this terrific horror-comedy classic. The movie has an excellent balance between horror and comedy and is easily one of the most entertaining movies I have ever watched.

The best of all the series! Bruce Campbell's performance will withstand the test of time.

Evil Dead II actually managed to be an better film than the original. I had an more enjoyable time watching this and the comedic elements were actually sometimes funny. It does eventually get kind of stupid and corny but to be honest, I think it really highlights the movie well. This is a strong addition to the franchise because it managed to be as good if not better than the original. 8/10

We've seen squeals that works and others doesn't but evil dead 2 never disappoint is absolutely maniacally hilarious splatter independent horror comedy film.

I feel the same about the first one just this one is psycho mode

Bruce Cambell puts 110% into his acting. The practical effects are at once hilarious, fascinating and disturbing. Sami Rami’s directing brings to life a decent into madness out of a Lovecraftian horror story. One of the greatest movies of all time.

Fantastic cult classic!

In my book this is a masterpiece in this genre that seems to be invented by Sam Raimi itself.. And it's the best in the trilogy if you ask me.

Retelling of original with a better budget.Looks iffy on special effects when revisiting...but basically just retells same story.

The sequel continues to improve, with the word 'GROVEE' which is so iconic and the dark comedy really hits home The only drawback is that the CGI feels rough

The only remake in the franchise that’s great in every way. The bigger budget they were given from the success of the first Evil Dead was put to use for giant demons and animatronics, all fantastic looking. A must watch.

Arguably the best movie of '87, Evil Dead 2, in my opinion, is one of the greatest horror movies ever made. This is a perfect example of how an expert director doesn't need a big budget to make a masterpiece....That being said, this movie is not for everyone, so be forewarned.

The tone shift from the first one works insanely well here and it allows Campbell the opportunity to play every acting note imaginable.
