Fever Dream Reviews

Quite moving. Good concept and has a dark, realistic plot. A little confusing but overall a good psychological thriller worth a watcv.

Worst film EVER made absolute waste of space and these arty far-y directors need to put on a few lights when making trash like this what's the point of a film where half of it is in total darkness I have watched a few excellent films recently ruined by low arty far-y lighting it is certainly not the least bit artistic and a waste of actors time as they can't be seen in some Scenes the minute I see a film starting with arty dark lighting in future it's going to get zapped no matter how good the story line is with sub zero lighting Are you listening Mr would be :De Mille :

The movie seemed interesting but no questions about David were answered. Also I find it hard to believe that pesticides can be this toxic. Safe for anyone to eat, but will kill a healthy horse and an adult woman in a few hours? No.

Huh?? Just as clueless as to what this movie is about than before I pressed play.

Very slow, very odd, and just not very engaging. However, it held my attention to see what happens next. Answer? Not much.

I know everybody and their butt loves the book, but I was wildly underwhelmed when I read it years ago. Right after it was published in English. So imagine my surprised when it's STILL a thing. It was...fine. And that's exactly how I felt about the movie. It was fine. The book is more litfic than horror, and the movie is basically the equivalent. It's fine. Meh. Whatever.

Not sure why this would be labeled, 'horror'. Is anything that can't be explained by rational experience now a 'horror'? I guess if you just watch the first few minutes it might seem like it's going to be 'horror', but that opening is only explainable by seeing the whole film, especially the ending. I admit that I was fooled by the opening innner dialogue of a woman being dragged through a forest as being another woman-slasher film, but am glad I stuck with it, as it was anything but that. There is a spiderweb of suspense in almost every scene that keeps a viewer expecting culmination or explanation. So it is a kind of 'edge of your seat' film. If you expact an ax murderer to suddenly jump out of a closet, that doesn't happen. There is shamanistic ritual that could have been understated a bit more, as it does nudge the film toward a kind of "Rosemary's Baby" feel. And there is a ubiquitous "don't go into that dark basement alone" kind of point, that always seems a bit contrived, when all could turn out OK if the main characterer would, instead, just follow her instincts and common sense. Overall, a sublime sense of foreboding is interwoven with scenes of tenderness and well being. I do question the decision to open the film the way it does, as it is misleading, and sets an atmosphere of dread that might better be left for the audience to discover as the story develops. All-in-all, if you think this is going to be another slasher film you'll be disappointed. If, on the other hand, you appreciate nuances of character and plot this is a worthwhile film to watch.

Impressive and maliciously absorbing, this tremendous adaptation of Smantha Schweblin's novel dives into sinister - albeit sometimes fuzzy - places, delving into the depths of being human and our fears. It is also a portrait of motherhood complemented by two tremendous performances. Despite having several loose ends, subplots that do not develop and, therefore, seem more like a vice of the director, it is unmissable and surprisingly disturbing, much more for what it suggests than for what it shows.

I have no idea what the movie was about. Guess I'm not intelligent enough or patient enough to figure it out

IL-1, IL-6, and TNF-α stimulate hypothalamus to release Prostaglandins E2, and we have a fever. So this movie was supposed to feel atmospheric and like a dream, as the title suggested. It was so dreamy that I almost fell asleep many times. Zzzzz. Granted that I was a bit sleepy going in, I still believed that this movie was Netflix's new dose of melatonin. So yes, I hate this movie with a sleepy passion. It was supposed to build to something, and then it ended with nothing. Overall, a waste of time. 2/10

Its a slow burn movie with a bit of soul shifting tricks but during the whole film I just want to be david and shout "its the pesticides amanda!"
