A viewer who likes the first film would enjoy the second. Christian’s sacrifice of his former life for true love, rather than lust is a remarkable changing dynamic for the character making this worth a watch.

A critic once remarked, "If the first movie wasn’t good, the second will be the great one." Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. Instead of improving, the sequel took a turn for the worse. While there was noticeably less humping, the storyline, which initially seemed promising, failed to deliver the depth and engagement audiences hoped for. Just as the plot appeared to gain traction, the familiar themes of BDSM and over-the-top intimate scenes made their way back into the spotlight, overshadowing any meaningful development. What could have been a chance to redeem the series and explore more complex character arcs was instead reduced to a repetition of its predecessor's most criticized elements.

Not remotely as bitter of a plot as I was expecting but a lot more boring.

Sill enough to not be the worst, the constrained time period doesn't really leave room for any character development.

The development of the characters was not to be underestimated, although some characters didn’t appear to be thoroughly presented in the storyline (hence the lack of understanding of some scenes). What left me deeply disappointed and uneasy was the quick pace of the story occurred.. the watcher didn’t have enough time to process and focus on one peculiarly that another plot twist was added. In this case I definitely stand by “less is more”. Everything was just too overwhelming and by the end of the movie you just get tired of how many plot twists there are.

The film, at its core, is a love story about two people who wouldn't expect to be together but they make it work. Christian changes because of Anna's love. Contrary to the harsh critical reviews, the film isn't as bad as it was made out to be. The movie successfully captures the essence of the books and fans appreciated the film's faithfulness to the novel. This film grossed a significant amount of money demonstrating its wide appeal and strong support from its fanbase.

The utter lack of chemistry between the two leads left me frustrated. I've never been so bored during a sex scene. Christian is a terrible character and Anna's constant co-signing of his abusive behavior left me yelling at the screen.

La primera película fue bastante cuestionable en ciertos aspectos por ser una película de romance o por no cumplir como película erótica, pero no se podía esperar mucho al tratarse de la primera parte de la trilogía y solo sirvió como introducción. Esta segunda parte tiene casi los mismos fallos que la primera, pero hay que admitir que es mejor. Quizás haber cambiado a la directora de la película anterior por el director del clásico At Close Range y hasta haber involucrado a la autora de la novela en la producción fue un acierto. La película tiene unas pocas mejoras tanto en la historia como en el guion y en el desarrollo de Christian. Muchos han criticado a Christian por las intenciones que tenía con Anastasia en la entrega anterior, pero esta película deja en claro que se trata de alguien con un duro pasado que lo dejo psicológicamente dañado. Siempre se dice que las personas que tienen un daño psicológico que descargan sobre sus parejas siempre usan el trauma para justificar sus acciones. Aunque en parte es cierto, hay hombres que tenemos toda la justa razón en hacer eso porque necesitamos satisfacer lo que sentimos aunque sea con alguien cercano. Christian actúa como si quisiera cambiar, pero la realidad es que los hombres como él no cambiamos, solo nos adaptamos al nuevo entorno que nos ofrece una relación. Se puede notar que Anastasia también se adapta a los gustos de Christian, por más que actúe como una mujer que no quiere ser sumisa. Lo cierto es que en una relación ninguno puede cambiar aunque lo parezca, lo único que hacen es adaptarse al entorno del otro y solo el tiempo decide cuanto va a durar eso. Algunos pueden pensar que Christian realmente ama a Anastasia y otros pensaran que solo quiere poseerla. Lo cierto es que Anastasia le ofrece afecto y amor a Christian a pesar de sus gustos. La realidad es que los hombres que podemos parecer fríos, duros, perversos o unos monstruos realmente necesitamos afecto, incluso aquellos que somos incapaces de amar o sentir afecto. Anastasia hace lo correcto en entregarse a Christian porque lo que ella siente por él lo ayuda sanar. Ella también hace lo correcto en adaptarse a los gustos de Christian porque si realmente amas a alguien, debes aceptarlo tal y como es por más que sea alguien perverso o psicológicamente inestable. Sin olvidar que satisfacer sus gustos, sin cuestionarlo, también debería ser ley. Esta es sin duda la historia de romance que las chicas de hoy necesitan para darle a gente como Christian Grey ese afecto (y mascota sumisa) que tanto necesitan. Las escenas eróticas también son cortas y limitadas, pero se sienten mejores que las que había en la película anterior. Aquí son un poco más creíbles y de haber habido más, esta película quizás pudo haber estado cerca de ser lo que la película anterior no fue. Aún había más cosas que podrían haber mejorado bastante esta película, como el caso de Leila, que ofrece una cierta intriga. Este personaje sin duda hubiera aportado mucho y es una pena que también la hayan limitado. Fifty Shades Darker es una mejora que ofrece un poco más que la primera película, compensa el débil inicio de la trilogía con un mejor acercamiento a la relación de los protagonistas y es una película romántica que hace lo correcto en enseñar que los hombres como Christian Grey tienen un lado humano que necesita ser vista, comprendida y aceptada con un corazón que les ofrezca aquello que nunca tuvieron. Algo que ningún terapeuta jamás será capaz de ofrecer. Mi calificación final para esta película es un 8/10.

Showstopping, spectacular. I am a better man having experienced this film. Don't get me wrong: it makes no sense and no three scenes feel like they're from the same film. However, forget everything you know about sex, cinematography, the way stories and pacing work, then watch it without prior knowledge of the 50 Shades franchise and you will have the time of your life.

It's like a bad combo of a Soap Opera, Lifetime Movie, and softcore porn. That's the best way to describe this. Generic music, horrifically bad editing and pacing are really what kills any hope for this. Things just happen and feel so over the top with no real flow or cohesion. If you take one event out like Anna's boss or any of the dragged out sex scenes nothing is really lost. Really the only things that matter is they get bakc together and they get engaged. A whopping 5 minutes worth of actual important story. The rest is so boring and over the top trying to make up for any lack of substance. The acting isn't good mainly because the hcaracter are written terribly and there isn't much to work with. The dialouge is clunky and the motivations are always muddled and unclear. It's never really made clear at the ned of the day why Anna wants to go back with Christian. Christian is wooden and just isn't likeable at all. Everyone else is super forgettable. The cinematography is a big step down from the first one in terms of framing and camerawork and just bad overall. Half the scenes are dimly lit and the rest is just sex scenes that aren't even worth the price of admission. Why watch this when you can just watch free porn. This alternates between befuddled questionable decision drama and dragged out sex scenes. Skip This. They get back together and get engaged. That's all you need to know.

Love story movie with a different twist than usual - trilogy

Besser wie der erste Film, fand ich. Mag aber auch daran liegen, dass Jamie Dornan physisch wirklich präsenter war. Ansonsten ein netter Liebesfilm mit ein paar heißen Szenen. Mehr aber auch nicht.

Better than the first film because it actually has a decent plot, but again my major problem with this franchise is that its not re watchable.
