The Fighting Temptations Reviews
Great movie for those who are into Church and God. It has a story of a mother who was a backslider who lost her life to the streets and a grandmother who filed the roles of a mother. Two young children reunited after years and with the help of a liar and thief and prisoners and the community help they found a way to get along and save a Church and town. It's a beautiful story wish they would have made a remake or part 2
I like the movie but the casting was so random beyonce looked like she was 17 and the guy looked like he was pushing 50 and why was darrin so obsessed with lily it was so awkward to watch any scene with them because darrin was so obsessed and lily obviously didnt like him but anways stan beyonce
Reminds me of my church choir. The humor and gospel music are so much needed during this pandemic. I have watched it over and over again because of the way it lifts my spirit. I love it. Good for families with children too!
Good music, but Sister Act had a better story and better acting.
Story/Screenplay: (3/5) The story was good, but the screenplay was less than it could have been. Should have been funnier. Duration/Tempo: (3/5) At 2 hours and 3 minutes, it's a long movie that feels longer. Not good. Cast & Crew: (3.5/5) Cuba Gooding Jr. did well and was likable. Beyonce was memorable. Summary: (3/5) The base story was good and the cast was pleasant. The actual screenplay was a miss, and the movie should have been 15 to 30 minutes shorter.
Outstanding stellar performances by the entire cast. This movie was funny, heartwarming and worth watching again and again which I have. The music is guaranteed to move you in both physical and spiritual aspects of your life. It is a good film for the entire family to watch together and one you will remember and talk about for a long time afterwards.
I just happened to catch this movie on some network channel I was flipping through because I couldn't find anything to watch. Not a bad movie, but not good enough to rent on Netflix. It is a teen drama/comedy that is cliche and recycles numerous old ideas
Predictable, obvious and eye-rolling in a silly land without any real romance between the two main characters.
The movie is good it has a strong gospel premise and the characters are hilarious. The music was amazing and yes the plot was weak but the music makes up for it.
This movie is bad with the exception of the romance between Cuba and Beyonce's characters -which by the way, has no chemistry at all) Yes, the musical numbers are nice, but the scenes where the choir is rehearsing with new members for the first time seem a little too choreographed to me. However, if you love gospel music and light, fluffy non-complicated plots, you will love this.
Good predictable story, good cast, but really enjoyed the music. Typical feel good movie much like Sister Act 2. Beyonce looks and sounds great, she makes the movie. Other than that you could stay away from this one.
The Fighting Temptations is another decent film. It is about a New York advertising executive travels to a small Southern town to collect an inheritance but finds he must create a gospel choir and lead it to success before he can collect. Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonce give good performances. The screenplay is okay and has a few funny moments. The music is excellent. Jonathan Lynn did a pretty good job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the music.
