Fingernails Reviews
I've never felt a rating to be so ridiculously mismatched from what I believe to be its true value, nor a film so disastrously undervalued. This film is for those who truly appreciate genuine romance—those who understand and cherish the depth and beauty of subtle gestures, of life's small yet significant moments. A gesture can say more than a thousand words, and this film is perfect for those who enjoy movies like Her or The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The soundtrack and the cinematic quality of each scene beautifully capture every emotion, wrapped in a sense of modern nostalgia about something timeless. Perhaps no one will read this review, but let me say it anyway: it’s truly scandalous that this film doesn't have a higher rating. Easily one of my favorites in recent memory. My only regret is that the movie wasn't slightly longer—I enjoyed it so much—but what a beautiful ending! Am I the only one feeling this way?
I thought the premise was interesting and quirky - yanking a pinky nail to test for love. But the message, being that you can't test for love, couldn't overcome the awkward connections on screen.
One of the worst executed premises I've ever seen. The whole thing was pretentious, juvenile, and aggressively boring. The characteristics of all characters are diluted and executed with an elementary school-esque type tone. No real chemistry involved. The entire thing devoid of any authenticity. Waste of time for everyone involved and every pair of eyes that had the displeasure of viewing this garbage.
By the end of the first hour it felt like it should be ending, the only thing that saved it was the leading pair, both actors are very easy to watch and have great chemistry. But the run time definitely ruined it, as well as an unresolved ending for such a long wait.
Semi interesting dystopian premise but everything - writing, dialogue, acting, visuals - fell so flat. Needed a quirkiness infusion a la Yorgos Lanthimos to make it work. I like Jessie Buckley and Riz Ahmed in other movies, but in this one the only performance that was convincing to me was Jeremy Allen White.
This movie was raw in so many ways, and I’m here for it. The casting of all three characters was well assigned and all three executed extremely well in their performances. I was worried about the ending, but I understand it completely and you will too if you are honest. So many times, we want to cling to society’s image of the perfect couple, being the right match, etc., but in reality, it’s just not that simple. Even Luke Wilson’s character and the reason why he has this love matching company in the first place…I wish it would have gone into how the “machine” comes up with this matching algorithm to a tee and how much quality control and assurance is run on said machine. It breaks down at one point and doesn’t even admit to having a clear science. Human instincts and real psychology come into play with all of the character dynamics. The last scene made me honest-cry because it just proved how much this person felt in their course of action towards the other person in the scene. This film has gotten poor ratings and reviews, but it was a refreshing look at a rom com that is realistic and doesn’t make me want to hurl at the same Christmas Hallmark movie remake of a remake of a remake. Thank you.
This one showed up on a recommended viewing list. Interesting concept that just didn't work in its execution. One of those movies that starts out with a kind of gloomy, depressing, feel to it and that just permeates through every scene all the way till the end. It just plods along. I recommend skipping this one.
It's a really interesting concept that they explore in understated ways.
If you want to see a drama and si-fi movie then this movie is for you. I saw.... What a suspence and drama.... OMG.... Please watch once

Fine moovi Fine moovi
Good premise with a terrible execution. Great acting wasted. Main character is really annoying. I want my money back and I didn't pay anything.
Reading this review is already too much time spent on this movie. I would have rather watched paint dry.
Odd and boring at times. Decent acting but unlikely main character, lots of questions at the end, much didn't make sense.
Found it very good in the whole. Superb acting, quite funny, and that lil bit of sci-fi to spice things up. Not sure the sci-fi and the narrative are a 100% match, but as I liked the movie, I won't ask myself too many questions.
Very interesting story. I'm not sure why so many people are saying it's a waste of time. Love is a waste of time but yet we try to find it constantly. Performance by Jessie and Riz were really great.
Well performed, particularly by an effortless Ahmed, but the black mirror-esque B plot really goes nowhere slowly. Leading to anticipated and anticlimactic ending.
Honestly not worth my time to review this but I hated it so much if I can save one person the time from watching this than its worth it. Pretentious film, horrible dialogue, if people think there is "chemistry" between the characters then I am sad for them.
