Flyboys Reviews
"A poorly scripted history-rewriting exercise with mediocre acting and unconvincing CGI battle scenes." That review says it better than anything i can originally say.
This was one of those movies that came out years ago that I have always wanted to see, and I’ve just never had a chance to watch it. I should’ve left that wanting in the past. This was quite possibly the worst written film I have ever seen. No acting could save it. There was zero development of the characters and it was just poor dialogue.
I thought it was a pretty entertaining film that was kind of long. Yeah those old planes could never fly like that but it was still worth the watch.
Well I really liked it. And I thought the acting was good. I don't care what anyone says.
Pretty good. Planes are awesome and the dogfights are nice to watch. Definitely a family movie. The historical accuracy of the weapons and planes is nice. Dialogue can be a bit clunky, but frankly, that's okay.
While seeing planes go to war for the first time was cool, I had a difficult time buying the romance and it was hard to become attached to any of the characters.
Some of the worst CGI ever. Horribly done air combat scenes. Weak characters who have nothing interesting going on. It was a great story that could have been done really well, but this was not the movie the men who flew these battles deserved.
I found this film interesting and informative. I'm no historian, but the film gave me an insight into how the young pilots fought in the first world war. I found the characters well defined and likable. The story kept my attention, and the actors all performed well in their roles as far as I could tell. I liked seeing the planes in action, but I did think some of the CGI battle scenes looked artificial and left room for improvement. That said, they are still exciting to watch, describing the daily reality faced by the pilots on the front line.
Reno is underused and the rest is just not interesting despite a worthy subject.
WW1 true story in Top Gun style, open-up entire new perspective even it's back in the early 19th century paying tribute to the Wright-brothers. Interesting funny trainings haha... wish I found this earlier. Franco is brilliant as always, one of the better war film which flood the movie-scene.
Pretty romantic World War 1 movie.
Not a bad movie at all. This adventure based on a true story is worth watching and could be one for the whole family.
The flight battle scenes are pretty good, but there is not much depth here. The love sub-plot is meh, and it's very gung-ho tosh which is pretty dated compared to the more realistic war films such as 1917, but it is watchable.
Wow these guys must have made the critics for Rotten Tomatoes mad because they could not be more wrong. This movie has so many cool things about it. The way they showed these guys lives before enlisting was amazing. Really had every take/mentality. Then to see them go through training and brutal war conditions was incredible. Very low chance these pilots returned, planes were first introduced during this time. Very badass characters very brave, noble characters. It starred James Franco.. and also the way this movie included romance was also different in a good way because it wasn't cliche 1/2 (C) at all. Respectable all around great movie. Very misleading ratings.
