Force of Nature: The Dry 2 Reviews

It's a slightly inferior film to its predecessor, but it's still a lot of fun to watch, and it works very well on both an intellectual and emotional level. I wouldn't mind seeing more films starring Eric Bana's Aaron Falk. [Full review in Spanish].

Force of Nature: The Dry 2 is an inferior follow-up to The Dry but still delivers a somewhat engrossing mystery and an impressive sense of place.

| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Jan 18, 2025

As in the series’ first entry, landscape overshadows people.

| Original Score: C+ | Jun 24, 2024

While Eric Bana delivers a good performance, for me, Anna Torv helps round out this film with emotion we can ride along with.

| Original Score: B | May 23, 2024

Falk's return in this perfectly serviceable sequel is evenly paced and has fine outdoor cinematography; it captures a novel's texture, if relying on a few too many flashbacks.

| Original Score: 3/5 | May 18, 2024

Maybe Bana and Connolly will reunite for an adaptation of the third and final novel featuring Aaron Falk, if only to redeem The Dry franchise from this disappointing follow-up.

| Original Score: 5/10 | May 17, 2024

It’s fortunate that these movies look good enough, and Bana remains a compelling screen presence (with a nice co-lift from Anna Torv this time around) because the story in Force of Nature is not so great.

| Original Score: 6/10 | May 17, 2024

Once again brings some intelligently thrilling goods from down under.

Sadly, the movie is a little too dry, too.

| May 15, 2024

As it stands, it should keep survival fans satiated, mystery fans somewhat aggravated, and those expecting dry stuff, well, utterly baffled.

| Original Score: 6/10 | May 14, 2024

Once you get past the cumbersome title, Force of Nature: The Dry 2 is an absorbing thriller, one that juggles multiple plots so we never quite know who to trust, even when we are certain who is lying.

| Original Score: 3/5 | May 14, 2024

The performers are all strong, with Bana embodying compassion and decency, and Torv conveying impatient competence.

| Original Score: B | May 13, 2024

Yes, an Aaron Falk franchise has been born... Force of Nature: The Dry 2 is a spinetingling, thoughtful, and atmospheric mystery thriller that leaves you on the edge of your seat.

| Original Score: 8/10 | May 13, 2024

Force of Nature: The Dry 2 goes for the obvious, which slackens its dramatic tension.... The whole film feels lackluster.

| May 12, 2024

Force of Nature generates just enough mystery never to be boring, but not enough interest to elevate it above its modest trappings.

| Original Score: B- | May 10, 2024

Inferior to its predecessor, this follow-up is more of a standard-issue potboiler, albeit with lovely Australian visual backdrops.

| May 10, 2024

The performances are all giving the necessary punch even when the writing is not. It may frequently get lost in its own narrative woods, but Bana manages once again to bring it all back to humanity.

| Original Score: 6/10 | May 10, 2024

'Force of Nature' brings back Eric Bana’s excellent Aaron Falk character for another thought-provoking and thrilling mystery.

| May 10, 2024

The film is well-made and well-acted, but it merely suggests depth rather than actually having it.

| Original Score: 2/4 | May 10, 2024

FORCE OF NATURE might be a solid continuation of Falk's mythology, but it's also proof that the same franchise IP potential used to help sales can hinder a story's ability to succeed on its own.
