Four Christmases Reviews
This is not only one of the funniest movies of all time, Vince Vauhn delivers on so many levels! Don't listen to the naysayers, their delusional, my brother and i, have qouted this movie for over a decade. The premise delivers literally 4 Christmases where theryre forced to attend christmas with their 4 parents who have divorced. With facing different levels of dysfunctionality at each parents house, the laughs multiply as does Brad (Vince Vauhn) and Kate's (Reese Witherspoon) relationship, with a warm and hilarious ending. Do yourselves a favor and watch one of my top 5 movies of all time!
I thought all the scenes had funny aspects up until they break up. A boy named bjorn and Josephine the wrestling coach and the satellite installation dialogue was on point IMO
The movie has all the potential to be a great comedy classic, but it's ruined by Reese's and Vince's inability to be funny.
Inventive but played down comedy.
"Four Christmases" is a light and enjoyable romantic comedy that takes place around the holidays. The movie doesn't try to be anything beyond what it is on paper, which is a situational comedy revolving around a couple and their families. I think Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn work well together here and their dynamic makes for a fun screen presence. I do feel the two characters get over a lot of serious things pretty easily and the comedy is somewhat hit or miss sometimes, but there were certainly multiple moments that made me laugh out loud. Overall, it is a movie that delivers what I expected and I had a good time watching it, despite it not being a classic, I think it is charming enough to enjoy at least once.
I watch this every year, always makes me laugh out loud. Not sure why the overall ratings for this movie are so low.
Humorous enough to be enjoyable. Lots of cameos by excellent actors but, hey, why wasn't Carol Kane given a broader spotlight? She can be hilarious!
Funny adult Christmas movie with some hilarious scenes
Vince Vaughn is a one of a kind Comedic actor and this early 2000s rom com has got a cast of actors that have only gotten more and more. ug in hollywood.
Funny Christmas movie. A must watch every year...not for kids though.
An incredible strong cast that should make for a great movie, but it couldn't be worse. Bad writing, bad direction, even bad lighting for Pete's sake. Not one redeeming scene. Just awful.
Must watch every Christmas one of my favorites. Not your usual sugar coated Xmas movie just good old entertainment. Vince Vaughn and his brothers nailed it and his dad is losing his buzz lol. You can’t spell families without lies.
4.5* Classic to watch at the start of Xmas. Lots of comedy. Not lots of cheer. LOVE IT!
This movie makes it clear pretty early on exactly how the story is going to play out. We have our two main characters, played by Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn, who don't like spending time with their family for Christmas. The character arc that the two are going to go through becomes apparent very early on. As the title implies, the couple go to four different family Christmases. The first two Christmases are so over the top and detached from reality that the movie loses any relatability with the audience. The jokes do not land, and when they don't, they linger on them for way too long. It's like they'll tell the joke, and then repeat the same thing with 4 different punchlines. The bickering couple routine gets old really fast, and no one would believe Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon as a couple. But, with all that said, the movie is harmless enough. It gives you exactly what the premise promises. And it manages to do it all in under 90 minutes. It maybe fourgetable, but I'll fourgive it, and I'll give it a 4 out of 10.
Just not a good film, think there is about one laugh. The actually zero character growth for the main characters makes it pointless. Zero Christmas cheer
The negative reviews on this film are baffling to me. This is in my top five Christmas movies of all time list. I can watch it over and over and it always makes me laugh.
watching this in 2024 and saw how many usually funny stars are in it but watching Jon Favreau suck on food while talking grossed me out so bad i had to change it-no idea if it got better but i didn't hear 1 funny line
These bots need to shut the hell up about this movie.
I really love Vince Vaughn and really like Reese Witherspoon. This movie does a decent job at showcasing their relative talents. There are a number of memorably funny scenes at the various Christmas celebrations they attend when their plane gets delayed. Robert Duvall and Jon Favreau are very funny in the limited scenes they are in. Mary Steenburgen is very likable and well utilized. Krista Cheneworth has some funny scenes. Dwight Yokum is good. The movie has some sentimental rom/com moments. The Nativity Play is the best part part. The movie just doesn't do a great job in tying it all together. It could have been much, much funnier and used their talents more effectively. Some of the scenes are way too contrived even for comedy.
This film is simply awful. It is a typical example of Hollywood's warped perspective of traditional values; family, faith, morals, etc. Keep your kids away from this poison.
