Frank Reviews
If ya don’t like this movie, we’re probably not going to get along. Absolutely the best closing scene. Maggie Gyllenhall! I LOVE YOU ALL!
If this was the inspiration for the masked singer they should all be shot. Otherwise not a bad movie.
Great movie with great casts and theacting skills are muuuuaaaaa
Great, quirky and comical indie-style film.
Looking for something different? this is for you. The acting is solid, the storyline is intriguing. I enjoyed this film.
This film exceeded my expectations, which were none, so maybe that isn't saying a lot? Really good heartfelt story, but they never should have let Frank take off his head because that sort of ruined the believable nature of a man wearing that thing. Once you see who is in it you come back to reality.
There's a lot of really good ideas at work here (i.e. the thin lines between genius and mental illness and hype versus reality) but the film just doesn't give these explorations enough weight because, until the final scenes, most of what transpires is a seemingly dark yet quirky comedy. Still the ending finds the right notes and Fassbender's performance is quite outstanding.
FRANK, an indie film about a experimental band co-written by Jon Ronson, sounds right up my alley. Instead it's a kooky bore with generally unlikeable characters and little payoff beyond the persistent undercurrent of sadness that runs throughout.
Love the cast, hated the movie. Based on a true story but it's just too strange for me. Music was terrible for the most part.
How did this movie get such a good rotten tomatoes rating, is beyond me, I thought it was very boring and no special effects. Thus my *1 & 1/2* star rating! FYI I did like a little bit Frank's song at the end of the movie "I love you all"!
I loved the movie. A unique, weird experience throughout. An amazing dark comedy that will forever be a favorite.
A movie that starts feeling like an obvious weird end will happen, and delivers that obvious end greatly, making you suprised of so attached you become, and hope your first impressions of the characters were wrong. Frank is a love story. It's not about success, money or power in life but about existence love and acception. It starts at a funny, crazy comedy and end almost like a life lesson about neurodivergent lifestyle. This movie is probably the movie I most laughed in my life, its great comedy with a beautiful end. Success isn't everything and few can teach you this like The Soronprfbs
What a crazy movie! I really liked it and let's face it Fastbender is always awesome. ( I might have spelled that wrong sorry.)
Frank is certainly unique and while it is perhaps understated to a fault at times, its character work is well developed and their interactions are fun. It's honestly a little tough to determine what Frank is actually about, but I think it's about vulnerability and the creative process. And for that, I did enjoy it.
While I definitely wouldn't call it an iconic, thought provoking masterpiece, I'd be lying if I didn't say I enjoyed it. There were many surprises, landing jokes, and heartwarming scenes to fuel an urge to re-watch it sometime in the future with a friend. However, I don't think it goes beyond the bounds of an entertaining movie, as the critics and others may say. If you haven't seen the movie before, and plan on doing so, i'd say take it for what it is, and don't expect anything less or more than a good time.
Frank is an interesting little film A film the deals a lot with depression and pursuing one’s dream. Performances are great all around in the concept is humorous. The film does have a lot of heart and everything to it but the ending could’ve been better and it was a bit over long. Sweet little film if you’re into something strange.
I am an avid fan of horror movies and yet nothing could have prepared me for the fear that followed me for months after watching this movie.
Brilliant film, moving and quirky at the same time. It also highlights mental health issues which is always good.
