French Exit Reviews
Michelle Pfeiffer deveria ganhar todos os prêmios por esse filme. Ela foi simplesmente tudo!
Simply marvellous. Miss Pfeiffer's character is perhaps who I want to be. Yay 😁😁😁
Brava!!!!! Extraordinary film. Unusual! Incredible acting! 🎭 Michelle Pfeiffer is superb! Enjoyed how avant-garde it is; truly a thoughtful example to learn from; to assess potentialities in what we have been given, or not given, and then the choices we hold in our own hand.
"Comedy." Seriously?
While I was watching this movie, all I could think about was that it was a shallow copy of a film from the late '60s and early '70s, such as Harold and Maude or The Graduate. It wants to evoke a similar emotional vibe or narrative tone. However, it does carry enough resonance and meaning to do any true justice for me as its viewer. And whatever happened to Lucas Hedges? He skyrocketed to the forefront of new acting talent, then quickly disappeared after appearing in a few flicks over a few years.
This movie is refreshingly strange. Its main characters are all quite „peculiar“ to put it nicely. The pacing overall is rather slow, but it doesn‘t get boring, either through some comedic pieces being sprinkled in, or through the characters unpredictability in terms of their oddness. I can see this movie not being for everyone, but it certainly is worth a watch and might turn out to be surprisingly enjoyable for a lot of people. Even if you just watch this movie for Michelle Pfeiffer (who does a great job and looks absolutely stunning in this imho) you‘ll enjoy it.
Other than a few laughs and some decent scenes, this seemed silly and contrived. The frozen dildo was hilarious.
It was a really good movie. Very instructive. I really liked it. I will watch it again later. Also, I really like the small details of the movie.
Camera density was so good
A widowed New York socialite and her aimless son move to Paris after she spends the last of her husband's inheritance.
Pfeiffer is brilliant. It’s quirky but really enjoyable. Just go with it and enjoy…
You'll either find the deliberately weird episodic plot amusing or not (I personally found it quite funny) but more importantly this is the best use of Pfeiffer's considerable strengths as an actor in a long time.
Needs more Michelle action
Funny, moving, unexpected. Great performance by MP, as always.
This is the most bizarre, crazy, depressing movie I have seen in a long time. Plain schizophrenic. Please do not waste your time watching this crap.
Honestly the worse movie I have seen in ages. Watched as I hoped there maybe hood scenes of Paris, decent French language. It was not black comedy. It was slow torture. Not one character was at all relateable.
this is a poignant poised and thoughtful film about values one chooses in a glamorous public life. The mother/protagonist dominates her small son, she chooses her values, her son meekly follows, perhaps to self-actualise one day. The mother uses her beauty and charm to find her way, yet it is those same attributes that constrict her options. She has chosen her path, and we respect her for actualising it. She is an incredibly strong character, and in this case, it equates to being unable to change or reinvent. Paradoxically, her son may be the one able to do just that. Ive watched it twice to get the different layers.
Oddly watchable, and in the beginning showed promise, but in the end pointless, pretentious & self conscious. The many loose threads never tie together in any meaningful way.
Glad to see Pfeiffer star again but there isn't a lot to like besides her performance. Even her character is nothing special.
