Freud's Last Session Reviews
This movie was slightly boring
This is a slow moving movie that is deep. Not what you would expect a movie to be. Save your money and wait for it to streaming at home.
Wonderful movie must see
Made me want to learn more about their childhoods and biographies and learn more about Anna Freud.
Excellent script. Hopkins brilliant as usual.
Thoroughly enjoyable film. The acting is wonderful. The story is great. The production is first rate. The film really takes you back to the past where you can see these two great thinkers interacting in a genuine way about what might be the most important question of all: does God exist? Don't get me wrong: I like a good action movie or comedy as much as anyone else, but I do wish there were more movies like this one.
Extraordinary acting beautiful sets amd settings. Authentic storyline amd personality portrayal of my vision of Sigmund Freud. I studied his sciences at Dickinson College during my studies for a minor in Psychology at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA.
Lewis did not make many compelling points about the existence of God. In fact, he seemed more lost in his own old traumas.
Very boring, I can understand why it is only playing in a few screens.
A bit boring. Difficult to track as the movie keeps flipping timeliness.
We liked it very much. It takes place in London at the beginning of WW2 with flashbacks to earlier periods. Its a discussion between belief in God versus atheism.
Brilliant, beautiful, captivating an amazing story about history historical figures that are still talked about today stories of love and loss and healing
Is there a God? is beside the point. Life teaches each one of us the lessons we need.
I was hoping for more intense discussion.
best movie I seen in a long time . Anthony Hopkins is The true master of his craft . Kudos to the director
Fantastic performances, beautifully shot, and I liked the semi-historical nature of the film. And who knows? Maybe they did meet shortly before Freud's death! I also thought the writing was excellent and it brings up so much of what we all ponder/dread/expect for our futures.
Interesting vantage point (Freuds) of what matters as he approaches end of life. Great casting. Might have extended to flesh out a couple ideas bit further. But perhaps that is part of the point, nothing is final or closed until one dies?
Cerebral and very well acted. One of those movies that leaves you wanting to discuss or think afterward, Highly recommend
Excellent movie, very well developed and a superv dialogue.
It wasn't what I expected, but learned some interesting facts about Freud and C S Lewis. I expected there to be more of a debate between the two, but the "debate" was a dialogue interspersed with history of their lives, with quite a bit about Freud's daughter. While the historical information was interesting, I think there was too much focus spent on establishing Freud's character. There were lots of quips and chuckles that became redundant, because Freud had quickly become established as a bit of a cynic. The parts about Anna, Freud's daughter, did not add anything to the debate about the existence of God - which was what I thought the film was about.
