Ghosts of War Reviews
Imagine your team is winning 1 x 0 in the first half. In the second half, they took the turn over, because your coach didn't know how to make the right changes, 2 x 1 is the final scoreboard. That's Virtushit (VERTULEK). First half virtuous, second half shittyous.
Part Horror movie part War movie with a splash of mystery and sci fi. Unfortunately the intrigue of the first half was better than the convoluted second half. Acting was quite good.
They want to know what it's like to get high without having to take a substance of dubious origin, you have found the perfect way this movie will blow your mind in a bad way how are you going to mix me upWorld War II with a future and adding another action plot in a horror movie or this goes well or it goes very very badly and they came up with a fucking script written with the most stoned legs than any stuff
You're in World War 2, you're trying to solve the clues to how this family were murdered, you're waiting for the soldiers to die one after another and then smack! You're in the future and there's computers and Afghanistan and it's all just a dream / simulation. What's bizarre is that money was clearly spent on the futuristic ending and it's just hard to see why. There are very few good war based ghost movies and I would have happily watched it all play out in the era and maybe have just one of the team survive. Great cast, great location, terrible story writing.
The characters are noticeably cliche individuals to start. Once over that, they've settled into their haunted abode, and it just becomes like most generic haunted house tales. The final 20 minutes somewhat justifies the aforementioned faults, I see what they were going for, but it could have been better conveyed. If you watch a movie like Jacob's Ladder then you know it's possible for it to be better conveyed,
Gritty suspenseful unique twist at the end.
Pretty boring. I like war movies and like horror movies so I had high hopes for this movie. But it was just flat, and the actors didn't have authentic WW1 accents like in Band Of Brothers or 1917.
Felt like the concept behind this film gave it good potential. Coming into it I somewhat glorified the idea of a war themed horror movie, and was definitely ready for something that kept me on my toes while implementing the combat/war background. However the way the film played out was utterly disappointing. Plot was carried out in a way that I wouldn't have gone. Oh well. Unfortunately is definitely not on my recommendation list.
Its PTSD themes don't hit as hard as they'd like, due to too much laughable nonsense and meaningless eerie spooks. These weaknesses could be made into a PTSD point if finessed, though.
This movie has a weirder ending but for what it's worth it was a good watch. Not incredibly scary but more of a thriller. Good story
Honestly was a little sceptical after reading all the negative reviews.... But it's a perfectly decent little movie. A bit all over the place with the plot but it rattles along at a decent pace so you really won't be bored.
Not a bad movie and not a great movie...I was engaged and the ending twist was interesting.
I think this movie is terrible. At the end he realizes that the whole thing was a simulation he and his comrades were apart of and that the simulation is being haunted or cursed by the woman who set off the bomb. Wasn't her setting off the bomb bad enough? He realizes he got his legs blown off, one guy lose the bottom half of his face, one lost an arm and a leg, and one other solders intestines were hanging out due to to here blowing them up. So she cursed them after she did all that to them? She changed there lives forever with that bomb. There was no need for the curse, haunting, any of that.
There are a lot of negative reviews on here, but I really enjoyed it. Accept it's a supernatural horror film, not a war film, and it will be much more rewarding.
What a befuddling mash-up of genres. The first half of the movie that is essentially "haunted house but it WW2" was passable, but when you breach into the "virtual reality therapy for Afghanistan veterans but the code is plagued with an Afghan curse" you start to lose me. I had fun, just not smart fun.
Started out as interesting little war movie. Then it became a nonsensical ghost story. Followed by a even more bizarre sci-fi ending. Avoid this one.
