This movie is so camp and entertaining, the music is stellar, the concept is quirky and fun, the sound design is detailed, if you hate this movie you are the reaper of joy and whimsy. The nighttime garden scene is peak cinema and if you say otherwise you know NOTHING
Yeah I can see why reviews are not great for this film, there's nothing interesting about this other than the fact that they are lawn gnomes, which that gimmick wears off in about 20minutes, there's not enough funny lines, or cool scenes to make it a good film, it's overall just boring or brain rot you; would put on for children to watch, so many better films out there, even for kids.
It's a very cute and harmless flick, and kids and adults will definitely like it, but all it really is is a child-friendly version of Romeo & Juliet plus garden gnomes.

I was SHOCKED and DEVASTATED to see the critic and audience reviews for this movie were so low. It is a CRIME. This movie is a classic. My go to comfort movie when I need a good laugh. The characters are all likable. It’s creative. Enjoyable for all ages. One of the last great animated films to come from Hollywood. Ignore the reviews and give it a try!!!!! The love story is so sweet. And the part with featherstone still makes me cry iykyk.
Gnomeo and Juliet is a masterpiece. Shakespeare could never. The character of Tybalt really brought everything together. The soundtrack and voice acting was splendid too. Truly inspirational. Maybe the real cupid's flower was the friends we made along the way. Amen.
A Starz Animation movie loosely based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet featuring garden gnomes in the lead roles. I’m not sure if this film is based on creativity or insanity, but they make the premise work down to the sound design and the characters conveniently falling into soft material so they don’t break. Since the movie is directed toward a younger audience, the traditional ending is avoided. However, there are a few meta jokes that parents may enjoy. If you enjoy Elton John songs, then this soundtrack is for you! The voice acting cast is really stacked, but the stand outs are James McAvoy as Gnomeo and Jim Cummings as Featherstone. Not a bad movie, they just went a little too far on the self-referential humor for me to recommend to everyone.
Literally the greatest movie of all time. It is a crime to not like this movie. Only weirdos dislike this movie. Absolute MASTERPIECE!
This movie was my intro Shakespeare and Elton John and it does so fantastically. The characters are adorable and the comedy is great. It truly deserves more in terms of good reviews. It sequel is also very good. A+ gold stars.
