Gone Fishin' Reviews
This movie wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, which Is why I think it got badly reviewed. It's a very fun, lighthearted movie that is simple, turn off your Brian enjoyment fun for a few laughs. Joe Pesci in a roll and position I'd never assume to see him in, a family man whose best friends with Danny Glover, so close they live side by side, and have a yearly fishing trip with crazy results.
Not sure why people hated it so much! We enjoy it very much! Its a classic, have a some laughs. Its simple, no swearing, no sex, no drugs or alcohol... Maybe that's why people hate on it so bad 🙄
An absolutely relaxing, fun and hilarious film. If Danny Glover and Joe Pesci wanted to just relax andnhave fun, this was the film and I'm very glad they did it. This film had a great plot. Nick Brimble was brilliant as the films antagonist, Decker Massey. He was very intimidating and did a fantastic acting job. This film was just supposed to be a fun romp, critics and other viewers took this film too seriously. Just a pure fun and relaxing film. When you watch this just relax and you will find relief from all stress in this film. Pesci and Glover hit this role right out of the park. Gus Green and Joe Waters are as memorable as Leo Getz and Roger Murtaugh Glad Pesci and Glover did this. Just another diverse experience in their deservedly award winning and accomplished resumes. A great relaxing comedy with a suspenseful plot. A+
I've walked out of one movie theatre in my whole life during the screening, and this was it.
The film instilled in me a deep appreciation for the complexities of life, encompassing both its adversities and triumphs. It evoked a range of emotions within me, eliciting tears, laughter, and a profound sense of love.
I used to watch this with my grandma and grandpa all the time when I was young. This is a hilariously-good classic, loaded with great actors. 👌
this movie is funny but the acting is horrible and the main characters are annoying as f### but if you want a funny movie with dumb characters this movie is just for you
Misfire in every sense of the word. A script so repetitive and cringeworthy. A plot with an rehashed idea and stupid execution. A set of great actors who cashed a paycheck and nothing more. ‘Gone Fishin' should have been a fun late 90's comedy but leaves nothing more than a skidmark on the careers of everybody involved. A PG rating certainly didn't help either. Steer clear of this time waster.
One of the worst pieces of crap I have ever seen.
What did you expect ???
I was gonna give this movie less then 2 stars but it is not awful to watch. I have never seen or heard of this movie since a few years ago. One of my boyfriends fave movies he watches often, he watches more then me, I'll watch sometimes I'll go in and out. I'll watch it again, kinda cute not really funny the two men are kind of naive not the worst film not the best film.
The poor ratings on this movie really don't make sense! I've never been one to avoid a movie due to an "expert's" opinion, but they really got this one all wrong. It's funny in a silly and endearing way, the goofy friendship shared by the stars makes the movie that much more enjoyable. True, it's not a deep Intellectual movie, but it will leave you with a smile. If you're looking for sex, drugs and foul language this isn't the movie for you, just a simple, family friendly good time!
It was clear watching it they were aiming for a Dumb and Dumber type comedy but with two old men. Joe Pesci and Danny Glover did great in the 3 Lethal Weapon films they did together and have good chemistry here but watching it I thought it was weird that Mel Gibson wasn't there because he was the real star of the Lethal Weapon films. Joe Pesci has done good comedies before from the first two Home Alone films to My Cousin Vinny and does well here.
Amazing waste of talent. Arquette and Whitfield should erase it from their resumes.Only Willie Nelson escapes embarrassment.Barely.we're the lead characters supposed to be mentally challenged? One wonders.
