Good Luck Chuck Reviews

Penguin lovers will be ecstatic.

| Original Score: 1.5/4.0 | Sep 9, 2020

It's a poor rom-com which leaves you hoping the cute couple doesn't get it together. Despite valiant attempts to get the audience laughing again, the movie doesn't recover from turning so unexpectedly and completely sour.

We've never gotten the appeal of Cook, and this did nothing to explain it.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Feb 8, 2012

The cracking performances from Alba and Cook do wonders at papering over these creative fissures.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Jul 14, 2011

If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, right?

| Original Score: 1/10 | Feb 9, 2011

The only plausible scenario in this movie is the idea that a woman would be so annoyed by Dane Cook, she'd be willing to put a curse on him.

... a bit like being at an entertaining party ruined by a some obnoxious loud-mouths shouting obscenities.

| Jul 5, 2008

Whether or not you appreciate Dane Cook's spastic, hyperactive brand of observational humor, he cannot be held solely responsible for the unmitigated disaster that is 'Good Luck Chuck.'

...comes off as the latest misfire from erstwhile comedian Dane Cook...

| Original Score: 2/4 | Mar 13, 2008

Apparently someone out there thought it would be a good idea to capitalize on American's love for penguins AND gross-out comedies.

| Original Score: 3/10 | Mar 3, 2008

A transparent excuse for a constant parade of topless females eager to assume a compromising position. The only thing missing was a cheesy porn soundtrack.

| Original Score: 1/4 | Jan 18, 2008

What isn't forgivable, though, is being boring, and Good Luck Chuck has all the engaging magnetism of an unflushed toilet.

| Jan 15, 2008

To paraphrase one of Chuck's girlfriends, this is a film that finds no shame in licking the sand off the balls of comedy.

| Jan 15, 2008

Crude, vulgar and dispiriting to watch.

Shoddily written.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 9, 2007

Cross the street to avoid this one.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Nov 9, 2007

Terminally unfunny

| Original Score: 1/5 | Nov 9, 2007

If it wasn't for the presence of leading lady Jessica Alba, Good Luck Chuck would be lucky to get even a DVD release.

| Nov 9, 2007

Good Luck Chuck has its moments - though the half-decent comedy moments are outweighed by the gags that fizzle and the cruddy loutish moments.
