Good Time Reviews

I liked this film quite a bit - it's a brisk crime thriller that does a terrific job of showing the continual spiral from bad to worse. Pattinson is terrific in this role.

The plot seem very undeveloped but the characters were actually pretty compelling and written out pretty good. A lot of highs and lows but not really sure where they were going overall with plot.

A thriller that follows Robert Pattinson’s character as he escalates and escalates into shark infested waters, with every turn that he takes being a dangerous one. It remained to be exciting even though it wasn’t in your face about the stakes and how tense a situation like this is. The movie has amazing stars and actors and subverts expectations by making you guess what could happen next.

Maybe a bit dark for some people but well done

The compounding levels of stress are palpable. Lots of little moments that build into a big mess. The sound & lighting have a chaotic tone. The clever ways the characters deal with things is fascinating. Yet it could be slightly tighter.

This movie was all over the place. Disappointed when I was only one hour in… I was invested until it stopped being about the brother

Good Time lost me when the random guy Pattinson picks up from the hospital becomes a main character. Felt like the brotherly relationship was lost for the last half.

The Safdie brothers have a way with creating movies that are full of tension. Overall really well done movie, Pattinson was great from start to finish.

Whoa this one completely caught me off guard. It's definitely not your typical heist movie. It will absolutely have your attention right from the start. Robert Pattinson and Benny Safdie were exceptional together. It's definitely worth the watch.

This movie did for Robert Pattinson what Blood Diamond and the departed did for Leonardo DiCaprio - Made me realize these guys were actually good actors. Every movie I saw with Robert Pattinson before led me to believe he was a poor actor. Now I realize I was wrong. So wrong. He is an absolutely phenomenal actor, right up there with Leo. And now I can rewatch all the films he was in that I cast off due to what was clearly a misperception or viewer naïveté to the art of acting. Furthermore, this is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece for the genre, one that gives us human emotion and thematic material that is distinct from other films. Elements of the incredible "DRIVE" are present here, and I would be surprised if the director didn't take huge inspiration from that film. That said, it stands alone. It is unique. What a gem.

My girlfriend had showed me this movie and I can say that I was fully intrigued into this movie. At the start you do not know whats entirely happening but it goes fast into the story with no backstory besides just knowing these two guys at the start. They go through hell but one of the brothers is caught while the other one goes through more hell trying to save him. Robert Pattinson in this movie is the antagonist. The movie gives you a feeling that you want him to succeed with his mission in trying to save his brother, but ever since losing him he has put people in danger by manipulating them and using his witts to his utter most success. He goes through multiple people to just try and help his brother but ultimately is does not have a happy ending, it has a realistic ending. It shows that when you do something bad, you are going to suffer consequences to your actions. It shows if you don't think that, then you will not get far, you may succeed a couple of times but things will come to an end. Though my only issue with this movie is the ending of this movie with the brother. He heads right back to where he was, and making him out to be something that his brother tried to not show, unless it was beneficial for them both. It can be said that he was using and manipulating him but he was trying to talk to him as another person and not using a soft voice to be nice. But in my opinion, this is a movie you should watch if you are ever looking for one. It does not have certain closure, but it is a thrilling and nail biting stoy.

I didn't find it engaging at all.

Expect that everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, especially with these inept criminals! As two brothers attempt to rob a bank, one ends up in prison while another begins a wild trek across town in an attempt to find the money to bail him out, only finding himself in deeper water. Chaotic is the best way to describe this move, which makes Robert Pattinson's portrayal of a crook out of his league more enjoyable to watch!

Not for you if you're looking for a happy ending but it has a great message and a really solid performance from Robert Pattinson.

Bottom line for me: This movie wouldn't be much without R. Patterson. The opening scene, and some of the initial discovery scenes pulsed with tension with help from all the actors, but after that, Robert owned this completely. Almost without words, he encompassed the desperation, brotherly commitment, and depravity of the film, while holding his own power. It was pretty beautiful to watch Robert accomplish that, but I personally find the context of these types of films lacking. That Ritchie/Safdie quick cut directorial habit will always create energy, but it needs a story/character arc to go with it otherwise I lose interest.

An unrelenting and bleak thriller. This is career best work from Pattinson.
