Gossip Reviews
You think you know where this movie is going, but believe you me you don't and that whats great about this film. Its well acted and unpredictable that left me happy at the end of the day.
So many recognizable names in this story. Wacky setup. Predictable. But sure, not a waste of time when you're looking to waste time.
Once again, people seem to have no taste. This was a most excellent movie with a perfect ending. Don't pay attention to the low ratings. I recommend it.
No one is developed enough to care about them.
I couldn't help watching this movie with proper quality for ages. Finally found it with high dimension. That is a story when seemingly a little joke turn out to be a huge mess with punitive consequences
***Due to the recent RT changes that have basically ruined my past reviews, I am mostly only giving a rating rather than a full review.***
Not sure if this 2:14 minute running time provided on flixster is correct, but if so there is about 2:12 minutes of very boring movie with about 2 minutes of a good film tossed in there at the end. If this movie was closer to half the running time, it would have been worth the watch.
Stylish thriller surrounding three college friends and roommates who deliberately start a false rumour for a class project on gossip and how fast it spreads. Their rumor quickly takes on a life of its own, mutating into a tale of rape and resulting in the arrest of a classmate and potential murder. This wasn't a great movie but it wasn't as bad as I expected either considering I'd never heard of it before. Interesting (believable) plot and a decent amount of mystery/suspense it is also kinda predictable though including the twist ending. What makes this the most fun is the amount of (now) familiar faces involved and I'll admit I only watched it because I saw Norman Reedus' name attached. (Gah, he is super good looking here) but we also get James Marsden, Lena Headley, Joshua Jackson, Kate Hudson and several other supporting roles. 6/26/14
It is much better then I thought it might have been better if it had focused the first half a little bit more then the second half overall its watchable
The second half is a lot more interesting than the first. It is one of those movies where I was beginning to suspect the ending way before it showed itself, but when it happened, it was unbelievable.
A brilliant story finely acted and executed making for a real treat. Cinematography is on the dark side yet very visual, setting the scene for a thrilling psychological drama. Script has depth and gives the characters that edgy feel that opens up the thrill of the destructive language, which is involved in the world of the gossip. Nibbles: Chocolate filled muffin.
It was an OK movie. Glad I saw it once, probably wouldn't watch again. I just love Kate Hudson. Unlike a lot of the other reviews, I found the ending quite predictable. I called it about 2/3's through. Even so, at least the ending was decent, which makes the movie worth a watch.
Much like many of the films in the 90's it's a copy of what you have already seen with a twist at the end.
This movie shows the terrible consequences of gossip and lies. There weren't many surprises, but it was entertaining.
