Green Lantern Reviews
Green Lantern is a messy film full of plot holes, its CGI is terrible and pathetic, its action sequences are poorly done and the characters themselves don't have an ounce of charisma.
“Ahem.” clears throat “This movie was… an experience. Like eating a glowing green jellybean and immediately regretting everything. Ryan tried, I’ll give him that. But that CGI suit? It looked like someone wrapped him in green jello. Hard pass, folks.” Rating: “2/10 – More like ‘Green Lantern: The Slimy Saga.’ Yikes.”
The story itself is enjoying and the cast is excellent as Ryan Reynolds was a perfect Hal Jordan, but the does have it's problems. With saying all that the movie (especially the extended version) is definitely worth watching as it's very fun to watch
I don't think it's the worst superhero movie ever, but it's definitely horrible. I could go on and on about everything wrong with this movie, but the biggest infraction for me was that I just found it really boring. The visuals were decent, but it wasn't enough to make the movie good.
I really enjoyed Green Lantern! The film does an excellent job of explaining how a Green Lantern is chosen, showcasing their training, and emphasizing their core philosophy around willpower. The constructs they create with their rings are visually stunning, and the battles are thrilling. The casting choice for the lead role was fantastic, bringing the character to life in a way that made me truly invested in the story. I wish they had continued with more sequels, there is so much potential to explore further!
I was so delusional when I saw this movie in theaters when I was 14 and I had no idea how bad it was until a few years ago.
Not bad, pretty entertaining... not sure why Ryan Reynolds hates it so much
Idk, there really isn't anything for me to strongly dislike about this movie, but there was nothing for me to really enjoy. I thought Hal Jordan was a pretty interesting character, but the movie was just very generic. Was kinda confused on what the plot was early on. Then, what I figured was the problem at hand, it was something a little different by the end. Definitely not the best I've seen, but I have seen some worse superhero movies.
Tragic, tragic Ryan, tragic everything from beginning to end. It's only noticeable because he's the Green Lantern.
Just awful! Ryan Reynolds has no range and plays his whiny annoying self like in every movie. Blake Lively plays just a pretty face with no substance. To see them together knowing he was cheating on his wife Scarlett Johansen while filming this movie with another cheater Blake Lively in a supposedly "family" film is hypocritical and in such bad taste. Reynold Reynolds allegedly parties with Diddy too. He is not a "family" man as he pretends to be.
Green lantern is one of my favourite characters and I'm only giving it 2.5 stars because if it and I found the movie entertaining enough. I love the hate on it though lol. so funny
I Love the movie, it was so much fun watching. It kept me on the edge of my seat. It takes a little imagination just sit back, relax and beopen-minded
I think this is a good movie. I didn't find anything wrong except that it maybe generic but that's fine.
I didn't like the movie I just thought it would be funny if I gave it 5 stars
Tbh this movie was not bad it had a few gripes EASILY overlooked. I'm not so sure on why it got the hate it did maybe because the ones who hated they are not real DC fans the 2nd movie would have been way better.
People like me who grew up reading Green Lantern comics would probably enjoy this movie. I sure did; I've watched it about three different times over the years. I bet that the people who didn't like this film and gave it low ratings probably didn't read the comics. A few comic book readers are nit-pickers like the character on the Simpsons. Sometimes I think people expect too much from superhero movies, seeming to expect some sort of magnum opus just because the studio spent a boatload of money on a particular movie. It's a GREEN LANTERN movie, y'all! Trust me, it was fun and has all the stuff one finds in a Green Lantern story, which means lots of fighting and big weapons from the power ring.
This film is just a joy to watch. It's a good movie, but not amazing. Don't expect anything groundbreaking, but expect some enjoyment if you're a superhero fan.
CGI was really impressive in the film, but everything else was just decent
I wish I could recommend it but it’s a decent time killer. CGI is excellent they just had ugly designs from the start.
