Greenland Reviews
It's OK but if a meteor was coming ANYWHERE near earth......they would know years in advance
It was like watching someone play a bad video game. The world starts to collapse, but EVERY SINGLE THING they need is one tiny quest away. From the medicine, to the kidnapping, ,transportation, to MORE medicine, the plane ride... It didn't lean into a super cheesy/campy watch, or a visual effects monster. Even though it is packed full of known actors, the dialog and writing is smooth brained. I couldn't get into it.
This Movie Was Amazing! This Movie Had My Heart Pumping Throughout The Whole Thing! Five Years After Its Release And I Belive That It Lives Up To Many Movies In 2025! I Recommend You Go Watch This Movie For Yourself!
There must be a weird reason to even make this story into a movie! I'm thinking this is what will happen to all of us in 2030 when the world comes to an end due to fake astroids hitting earth when it was Deep State's missile launchers sending hail of nuclear missiles down to earth to reset civilization. Only thing that would have saved this movie is to have Gerald Butler say the words, "This is Sparta!"
Some pretty dumb choices by the leads but this was a fun apocalyptic movie! Need more of these. Maybe with less dumb characters
I recently watched the film Greenland, featuring Gerard Butler, and it was an exhilarating ride filled with action as it depicted a catastrophic meteor shower that threatens to obliterate not just the nation, but the entire globe. The plot highlights the government's focus on a select few individuals deemed essential for survival, all while neglecting those with health issues. What truly captivated me was the family's harrowing journey to reach safety, especially since their son has type one diabetes. Their struggle to access a secure location becomes a heart-pounding quest, complicated by the government's stringent measures that prevent them from gaining entry. Gerard Butler excels in these thrilling roles, and it's always a treat to see him in action-packed films like this one. Although they might not always perform well at the box office, they often find a successful audience on streaming platforms. The narrative was engaging and kept me hooked throughout. I found the casting to be refreshingly diverse, and the storyline was well-crafted. While it may not be flawless, it certainly provided enough entertainment to keep me invested, and I can see myself watching it again in the future. It’s one of those films that grabs your attention and makes you think, "This is really good!"
Its a cool movie, you should watch it. Just because theres someone special in here doesnt mean you should just watch it because of him, the Film is actually realistic at times!
Good movie, good acting & plot
For some reason, this movie has not been marketed well. I stumbled on it by accident and it was really something. Definitely a must watch for all the apocalypse movie enthusiasts out there
I loved this movie and this type of movies and I love that it didn’t have these scenes with funny people and zombies; it was all serious and kept me focused and engaged. Anything can happen to this planet, so if people think this can’t happen, don’t watch this movie !!!
One of the better disaster movies I've seen so far but I just don't believe that this is the way people would behave in a situation like this. It would be refreshing to see a disaster movie that moves a bit more away from the "humans are only capable of thinking about themselves and are prepared to kill for even the tiniest benefit to themselves as soon as civilisation collapses" trope.
There are a few problems with the movie. But the 2 that irritated me the most are how they got separated, and the sons chance of survival at the end. Son is T1 diabetic, left med in car, dad goes back, military finds out son is diabetic, and takes mom and son to senior officer. They could have waited for dad to return, and because they didn't are now separated for the next 90 or so minutes. At the end they make it to a bunker with ~1 weeks worth of insulin, then what? It has been established the the boy will get ill fast with out the drug. Meaning that the boy produces almost no insulin, where as some other T1s can produce a little so can last weeks or months with out it, this boy seems to be able to survive hours or a day. All that effort to get the family to the bunker just to watch the boy die a horrible death. Insulin has a shelf life of about a month. Which is why the military turned them away at the beginning, they will be underground for months / years, with no ongoing insulin production. At least in this movie, families were saved with the needed people with skill sets, and not like most where only the skilled person is saved (which is the more realistic scenario), having to leave partners and children behind. If you can turn off most of your 'are you kidding' part of the brain, this is an ok movie, if you cant, plenty of other movies to choose from.
The movie is cool visually but tainted by really smooth brain decisions by the characters making for frustrating easily avoidable moments.
Greenland delivers some stunning pictures of an apocalyptic planet earth. But besides, the movie is at least twice as long as it should be, thus feeling prolonged and repetitive. Also the basically touching performances and scenes are simply overdone. 'Less is more' surely wasn't the main principle of the writers. I'd recommend this film to people which haven't seen any disaster movies yet, but for those who have already seen a few, Greenland can't really add anything new.
Very predictable movie with no real action scenes or anything to remember
Fun and emotional ride!
I'm astonished this movie is only get 63% by the audience ....this movies is one of the best in years!!!
An absolute delight to watch, A perfect mix of a few tears, thrilling excitement, and jam-packed action. One of those films you walk away feeling grateful for life and pick up the bigger picture of our existence.
I love Gerard Butler and catastrophe movies. This movie was atrocious and unbelievable. They lose their son and are miraculously able to find him within the same chaotic evening. It just wasnt enjoyable.
