The Hills Have Eyes 2 Reviews
Really wish these movies were made with a bigger budget. An awesome concept but it was let down by bad writing and even worse acting. Would love to see a remake.
While it claims to add more gore which it doesn't the hills have eyes 2 is a generic sequel with a simple plot and plenty of clichés but you can find some enjoyment in it.
Good fun for what it is. Once you accept that there will be nothing original in the plot, just sit back and enjoy the gore and of course the stupidity of it all. If a blood-fest is your thing, there is plenty to enjoy.
The premise can be interesting and makes sense coming off the first one to some degree, but even then that's giving The Hill Have Eyes 2 too much credit, with basically everything else being off or straight up awful.
The Hills Have Eyes 2 is a decent gore-fest, but there is not much substance here.
guess what? its not good But at least better than The Original One.. average i can say
My rating for the film is a 3.4/10
It's actually a better overall film than the original remake, with smarter 'creatures' but 'dumber' protagonists. Which is a very odd mix. There is very little horror to go around, the story is inconsequential, and the plot is baseless on nearly all fronts. Other than that it's a C- movie that made an amazing amount of money.
What the flip garbage did I just witness with my own 2 eyes. It doesn't really feel like a sequel but rather a stand alone movie of some military units in the desert getting picked off one by one and you would think the military would win against some random people from the desert but in movies for some reason the military always loses. It doesn't make any sense realistically but that's movies for you. Anyway the acting was horrendous like the first remake movie. I hate to say it but I much prefer the first remake movie over this sequel by a long shot. In the end I literally already forgot about this movie.
Terrible horror remake.
Another entry in the unofficial WH40K adaptation subgenre. I'm convinced this movie had a draft written by Graham McNeill. The bad guys are definitely Khorne and/or Nurgle cultists. I think it would have been better received by critics with a different title. What it has in common with The Hills Have Eyes: There are cannibals living in the hills; and the nuclear test element from the remake. That's about it. The cannibals in this movie are stripped down to pure unthinking violence. They're vastly more brutal than the other movies, but they're less of everything else that made the cannibals creepy in the previous films (even the cannibalism has been toned down!)
I'm pretty sure this has a 40% audience score because everyone was laughing their butts off. These "soldiers" behave like Boy Scouts on a paint ball quest. It's so ridiculously bad it's hilarious!
It was a OK flick, really cheesy. The leader does not fit the role of a leader, it's not his acting style his character is awful. He is super ineffective. And this is the national guard we are talking about? Trained soldiers with grenades and fully automatic weapons can't take down a couple of hillbillies with pickaxes?
Extended edition: ok
Spoiler alert* the rape was a little much for me
For hills have eyes fans, this sequel is nothing better than decent, but still enjoyable to us. To people who've never seen the original or remake, they'll hate to and probably never give the others ago. Poor poor acting.
I don't know why so much hate. This is awesome. Not scary but definitely gory. It is better than wrong turn series.
