His House Reviews
An actual scary horror film, and for a British person, even though I'm not a refugee, it's quite relatable, which helps, very atmospheric and well-made, couldn't recxom enough quite underrated in the horror community as well from what I've seen
I really enjoyed this film. The twist was unexpected and it was a really interesting premise. Scary in various ways, would definitely recommend.
Had me seeing faces in my own holes in my walls! Very scary, loved it. Must see.
This movie makes no sense. Thought it would pick up at some point but instead went through a loophole of bullcrap. Thanks
This movie was full of cultural significance for an African couple experiencing ghostly phenomena that doesn’t use the same old tricks. The relationships are well fleshed out and the payoff is a gut punch.
The two main characters emotional clash is what sells as fortunate circumstances forces them both to live with guilt and regret.
Worst movie ever, simply waste of time. Freaking annoying story with no suspense at all. Fucking waste movie.
I don't get it, it was boring, uneventful and didn't really have a story. It was far, far from scary other than being a refugee and not having anything.
A great horror film with a beautiful twist at the end!
Both scary and timely political message.
more like a social lecture
The insanely high RT score is what kept me watching till the end, hoping to find something good in this awfully shallow script. The only saving grace is the acting, but there is no movie to be seen here. This is a meeting that could have been an email. It might have worked as a short film, but someone decided this should drag on with endless jump scares over an hour that would feel like three. The relevance of the immigrant crisis, combined with white guilt is my only explanation for the existence of this movie. If you do want to see a good psychological horror on how one learns to live with their ghosts, go watch The Babadook.
I don’t understand why this has such a high tomato score it’s seems RIGGED this movie imo SUCKS ending SUCKS just no smh 🤦🏻♂️
Very heartbroken and sad movie. Seemed very realistic movie. Good movie
- [ ] It was a really good movie. Very instructive. I really liked it. I will watch it again later. Also, I really like the small details of the movie.
I think itd be good upon rewatch most parts i was guessing where the plot could actually be going and trying to piece together the “plot” i already had all together i liked it but wish it was told better
Not your ususal horror movie, but amazing acting and storytelling nontheless
I feel like the people who posted negative reviews can't see the symbolism and understand what the movie was trying to portray. Yes it is a long shot to try and mix horror with a story of refugees escaping a war torn country, but the writing was about survivors guilt and the movie showed the severe and intense consequences that comes with it. It also shows what a person is willing to do to survive, example the main reason the main characters are haunted. If you have any intelligence you can see the deeper meaning and find beauty in this. Most negative reviews come from people that expected a horror film and didn't like the fact that it wasn't just that and there was real life and real emotions involved. It's called cinematography.
