House of Gucci Reviews
Really entertaining and interesting. The outfits and visualis look stunning. I really enjoyed the story, even if the story is quite exaggerated.
When i saw Lady Gaga was acting in it i though "ugh no!" then i saw Al Pacino was in it, so thought i would check it out, well, i loved it, and Lady Gaga did a phenomenal acting job, the only actor that let it all down to me personally was Jared Leto. Great movie, check it out!
After multiple viewings, I appreciate the actors, setting, clothes and screenplay more each time. Adam Driver is unrecognizable as Marizio Gucci, Lady Gaga shows depth and beauty, and Jeremy Irons and Al Pacino, along with Selma Hayek and Jared Leto live up to their legacies!
I contemplated watching this movie because I saw the trailer and wasn't thrilled how they portrait Paolo. They made him look like a stinky slob. This movie was a little personal. Paolo was my boss for a few years when I was in NY living on his and Jenny's estate in upstate NY. I was a horse manager to all the 100's of horses he wasted money on. I thought the movie was silly especially Paolo's script. He wasn't the smartest cookie in the box, but he wasn't a complete idiot either. I could tell you some things that would make your hair stand on end about them. BTW, they were wrong on how Paolo died, and it wasn't because he was poor, he had an illness.
I didn’t rush to see it initially but wished i had when i eventually saw it. Lady Gaga was perfect for the role and captured well what can happen to an established family when one woman “outsider” marries in and literally explodes it from the inside. Glossy yes, accurate, maybe, enjoyable, definitely.
Has a great, fairly well known story but fails. Too long and drags. Plus, having assembled a wonderful cast, Scott prevents them from acting by having them speak English with Italian accents, which often means you can’t follow the dialogue. Watchable, but not the epic it could have been. Despite the reviews, Lady Gaga is too dumpy for a femme fatale.
I didn't know the story before watching this which made it an amazing film in my mind. Truth is stranger than fiction? A great film thought out.
I thought it was interesting. It’s not my topical type of movie I would go see.
when a lot of the comments are about how the actors and actresses did in the movie, I was very much impressed with how the story ended. I never expected Maurizio to divorce Patrizia but he did anyways for someone from his childhood. sad.
this film is very good
Honestly i enjoyed the visuals it's perfect it's so old money and Luxury and i love it the acting is good i loved every body hard works but Lady Gaga saved the movie and played a big role for the popularity of the movie that's all
House of Gucci sometimes manages to pull you in and then spits you right back out with terrible plot pace and horrible acting. I knew who Adam Driver was before watching this steaming pile of trash. He was never an amazing actor to me but he could pass. What I didn't know was who the female lead was but I thought she was just about the worst actress ever to appear on screen. Totally fake. Didn't buy any of her acting for a second. Years later I understand why. It's Lady Gaga. OMG. How horrible. The cringe everytime she was on screen. Stick to music honey.
This film is a compelling and lavish portrayal of the tumultuous dynamics within the Gucci family, centered around ambition, betrayal, and the pursuit of power in the fashion world. With a star-studded cast that includes Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, and Al Pacino, the film effectively combines elements of drama and crime, presenting a gripping narrative that keeps viewers engaged from start to finish. Lady Gaga delivers a standout performance as Patrizia Reggiani, the ambitious woman who marries into the Gucci family and becomes embroiled in a plot to take control of the luxury fashion house. Her transformation from a humble outsider to a formidable force in the Gucci empire is both captivating and tragic, showcasing her ability to balance vulnerability and ruthlessness. Adam Driver complements her performance as Maurizio Gucci, whose internal conflicts and eventual disillusionment provide a poignant counterpoint to Patrizia’s relentless pursuit of power. The film's cinematography and production design are nothing short of stunning. Ridley Scott captures the opulence of the fashion industry in the 1970s and 80s, immersing viewers in a world of glamour, excess, and intrigue. The costumes are particularly noteworthy, reflecting the iconic style of the Gucci brand while enhancing the film's visual allure. While House of Gucci excels in performances and aesthetics, it does have its flaws. The pacing occasionally falters, particularly in the second act, where the plot can feel slightly overextended. Additionally, some characters, like Jared Leto’s portrayal of Paolo Gucci, can come off as caricatures, which detracts from the film's overall gravitas. Despite these shortcomings, House of Gucci succeeds as a stylish and dramatic exploration of the dark side of fame and fortune. It serves as both a cautionary tale and an entertaining saga, showcasing how love, ambition, and betrayal can intertwine in the pursuit of success. Overall, it's a captivating film that will resonate with fans of true crime and fashion alike, making it a must-watch for those intrigued by the intricate history of the Gucci dynasty.
Malisima película interpretada por Basuraga
Love the colour grading by Ridley Scott. Outstanding performance from Lady Gaga, wow
"House of Gucci" has plenty of outstanding elements, but it struggles to hold attention consistently. The pacing feels slow and, at times, boring, which contrasts sharply with Lady Gaga's incredible performance. She delivers a masterful portrayal, going beyond expectations with her authentic Italian accent and emotional depth. Her performance is captivating, but the film itself has a hard time keeping up. There are scenes that feel unnecessary and even distracting, which takes away from the overall experience. If some of these superfluous parts were trimmed, the movie would be much more engaging and enjoyable. On the plus side, the fashion in the film is a highlight. Every outfit is meticulously designed and stunning, making each appearance on screen a true celebration of fashion. That said, the film's length is a clear weakness. The prolonged narrative can leave the audience feeling bored and fatigued. If the runtime were shorter, the story could be more concise and easier to sit through.
overall the movie was fine. awful awful performance from jared leto, and it seems like everyone else but lady gaga phoned it in. intriguing story with nice sets and outfits. alright movie saved and carried by a flawless lady gaga performance. salma hayek is innocent too!
