IF Reviews
This movie is fantastic and I love the twist at the end LOVE ITTTTTTTT🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful movie. Critics (50%) who disliked the film either don't understand storytelling or don't understand life and human nature at all. The film is about coping with reality, yes. But, more important, it is about purpose and living a life worth living. I do have to mention that I just saw the trailer (after watching the film) and I see why there could be some mismatched expectations about the film: It is presented mostly as comedy for children when in reality it is very moving and touching. But that's just a minor detail. One may not see it at first, but an imaginary friend's whole purpose is to be there for their humans. These creatures, once forgotten by their children, wander around in their imaginary world without purpose, living a meaningless life. And Bea (the protagonist) for a minute helps to bring purpose back to their lives. She tries with many of them, and succeeds even with two of them (Blue and Blossom), even if it is for a few seconds. And, during this brief period of time, these creatures were ALIVE. If you can't see the analogy, feel empathy with it, and be moved by it, then you probably never had an existential crisis in your life. And if you never had an existential crisis in your life maybe, just maybe, you have been living in automatic pilot during your whole existence. Maybe that's the case of our dear fellow critics.
Got caught jerking off in the backrow kinda hot though
Love it ...it made mr cry very heart warming 🥰
Bad because I took my ex which I regret dating, wasted my money on nothing
This film is not meant for children, my kid chose to do CHORES over watching this movie. The high reviews are only from movie buffs who appreciate a good production, but for me, the endless, and I REALLY MEAN ENDLESS musical score is also very very tiresome for adults.
An absolute great film for children and parents alike. It's even worth watching if you don't have kids. The critic score vs audience score really shows that the critics are out of touch with what people really want and like.
I’ve never written a review before but my friend and I just watched this and I have never felt more compelled to do so than now. So here we go. This show is absolutely charming and brilliantly written. It beautifully introduces a hard real worry that many of us have- that eventually we may lose the people we love in our lives- while simultaneously reaching out and giving us as the viewers a hug and letting you know it will be okay. I absolutely love how while watching it you follow the girl in a way where while you’re still worried and anxious about what might happen to her father- you forget those feelings for a moment as you wonder alongside her with what exactly is going on. As the wonderment grows and she loses herself in helping others remember that same love and inspiration that they had as a kid she discovers her own strength to face her own reality. It’s a comforting feeling that makes one feel like they’re never truly alone and that it will all turn out alright. As for the animation I was prepared for a jarring combination of both animated characters being brought into reality but was pleasantly surprised. They seemed to really feel like they were apart of our world and I would even go as far to say that they felt even more “real” than the live action Sonic movies even though the characters were stylized and one was literally a floating bubble. But the whole thing felt believable and perhaps it helped that the perspective was from the little girls that helped it! And the charming old timey set design in the house and the places she goes gives it this nostalgia that is almost dreamlike. Even the lighting and the cinematography was beautiful in that way, I definitely could watch it again and share it with my family! I loved it and all the love that it was created with shows. One last note is I also love the unique and charming designs of all the different imaginary friends. You could really see their own personalities and that child like imagination… and the reasoning behind a few made me chuckle or cry. I don’t think anyone, especially a parent with kids, would regret watching this movie!
A great movie, especially for families with young girls. The ending had us all in tears!
Over dramatic for no reason. Very predictable. Ryan Reynolds seems to put minimal effort into this role. Steve Carrel character overly annoying. John Krasinski lazily reprises his role as Jim Halpert on the big screen. It was a cookie cutter children drama that forces emotion on the viewer.
I didnt have much hope for this, trailer looked silly, however I was pleasantly surprised. It was a very cute story, gave me the feels, my kid loved it. Reynolds and Shaw were brilliant as usual and I enjoyed the guessing game of voice actors.
This fully exceeded all expectations. Laughed heaps, cried more than I expected! There was more pulling at the heart strings than I am used to and this made the highs even higher. A must see ...
It’s unnecessarily jumbled for a family film, and certain parts just make no sense, but the film’s just made with such love and no cynicism that it’s hard to rate it too low.
A fantasy comedy-drama written and directed by John Krasinski, that follows a young girl who goes through a difficult experience and begins to see everyone's imaginary friends who have been left behind as their creators have grown up. This is family entertainment through and through—engaging enough for kids while still resonating with adults through its nostalgic take on imaginary friends. Though the ending is a bit predictable, it feels well-earned and undeniably heartwarming. If you have a soul, expect a tear or two! The film could have been extraordinary had it explored themes of loss and grief more deeply, and Cailey Fleming’s talent could have been utilized even further. Additionally, the world of IFs and its rules needed more development. However, the character designs of the IFs are wonderfully inventive, adding charm and whimsy. Michael Giacchino’s score is also a standout, elevating the film’s emotional beats beautifully.
Super sweet and heartwarming. I liked the exposition as it allowed you to connect with the characters more. Simple straightforward plot that is eell written and thought out. Entertaining, IF you remember this is intended to be a cute family movie. I loved the little twists at the end too funny, adorable and cute.
En serio que injusticia con está Película de John y Ryan sencillamente es hermosa 👌👌
A really good family film, kids loved it. It is not the best family film you'll ever watch but great for a rainy Sunday afternoon.
Cute movie 😇😇😇😇☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👍
