If I Stay Reviews
Absolutely HEART WRENCHING (which is why I think it’s such low rating) but such a beautiful story about a life review and the power of family, love and music.
A great romance movie, mostly because of Chloe Grace Moretz
This movie is well acted and a decent chick flick, albeit not my favorite chick flick.
What starts as a fairly mediocre teen drama turns saccharine come If I Stay's heavy-handed supernatural conceit.
Wonderful movie, that touches the heart and makes you think deeply about life and your purpose.
I dont feel any emotions after watching this.
An alright romance, but nothing great compared to other better romance films. I would say this is one of Chloe Moretz better performances in her career, so that's a plus. But I couldn't help but feel that the film was filled to the brim with basic romance tropes and cliches. I think the book executed it a little better compared to what the movie did, and the ending was very abrupt and out of nowhere, it could have been executed better. While the film does touch upon deep themes and messages, the movie also suffers from it's pacing, meaning it can get quite boring at times. But all the flaws aside, while it's not as executed as well as the book, it's an alright romance that's certainly not a bad watch but not amazing as you want it to be as well.
Dealing with loss, making a tearing choice at such a young age, and the flashback to the beautiful and sad moments... beautiful film that reduced me to tears, plus wonderful music... topper!
I liked this movie because I found it moving, plus Chloë and Jamie convey a lot of chemistry. I'm in love with them. 😍
Chloë Grace Moretz did her best, but it can't distract audience from the contrieved, unnecessary extended, and muddled plot.
Heartbreaking, great story, and wonderful expression of a story about family and love. Chloe Grace Moretz and Jamie Blackley had wonderful chemistry that felt realistic and emotional. Although other critics might comment about how sad this movie is, I think it is ok as she had to dealt with the loss of loved ones. The story had a lot of warmth after understanding families' sacrifice for their child and that love can influence one to live.
Never read the book, but Chloe is always great so I checked it out one day and I was not disappointed. . Fine acting all around with a catchy theme to the movie. If there was a knock on the movie Id say a bit too teen, but teen movies never bother me and that is who it's grated toward. There is something incredibly addicting about this movie because I always go back to watch it,and it gets better the more I've seen it. Great date night movie or could pass for a family movie as well..
Mia Hall the talented musician fights for her life as her and her family experience a horrible accident. Mia had everything she had desired in life, perfect family, amazing boyfriend, and a future at Juilliard following her music dreams. Till that all changed one day when she was faced with the decision of a lifetime. During this movie you will get a whirlwind of emotions as the movie transfers back to different scenes before and after the accident. There will not be a dry eye watching the movie but not a doubt you will fall in love with everything about it.
This was such a great movie. The book was better, but the books are always better. I love this movie and it has a great message. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants a good cry.
