Immaculate Reviews
A fairly average nun-themed horror film with some beautiful visuals. There's also a bit of gore, and the film's running time is another plus. I don't understand the hype or the hate surrounding Sydney Sweeney; I've never consciously noticed her, just the media discourse surrounding her. She's okay, she screams well, and she looks scared. That's all it takes for a quick horror flick.
Enjoyable. Sweeney took on Sister Cecilia. Overall, the cast was an enjoyable, creative, scary drama (some melodramatic moments)with a couple of gross moments. A big screen vibe. Sweeney is one of those actresses that fits into both movies and 온라인카지노추천 mediums. The flow, costumes, beginning, middle and ending (creative storyline/plot) connected into a cohesive story. I wondered how a second movie would come about, if it were to happen, thus an indicator that I liked this movie. Overall, this movie delivered enough that I found it worth going to the movie theater. The theater TLC in Hollywood was a fun place to catch this flick!
With echoes of ROSEMARY’S BABY, IMMACULATE conjures creeping dread and cloistered terror—even if its footing occasionally slips.
Started out interesting and then basically just becomes a lazy idiotic film. Several things are left unexplained like why her tooth fell out or why her nail fell out! The burn alive locked in a room villain magically makes a return at the end and it all climaxes with the main character biting through the umbilical cord picking up a rock and killing her own baby that’s also half Jesus or something absolutely absurd
somehow I went with this thinking was about ghosts or posessions hahaha, It was so different but I really liked
It's a very mid horror movie, with mid performances. With an ok ending.
Religious horror has a unique way of getting under my skin. There’s something about the blend of faith, guilt, and supernatural terror that always sticks with me, and Immaculate delivers on all fronts. Sydney Sweeney stars as Cecilia, a young woman who joins a secluded convent in Italy, only to find herself caught in something far more sinister than she could have imagined. From the very beginning, the film sets an eerie, suffocating tone. The convent is beautiful but cold, its grand architecture hiding something malevolent beneath the surface. The nuns are unsettlingly quiet, their devotion bordering on obsession. Cecilia quickly realizes that something is wrong, but by the time she starts uncovering the truth, it’s too late for her to escape. One of the things I loved most about this film was how it builds its horror. It doesn’t rely on constant scares; instead, it lets the unease grow gradually. Every conversation, every glance, every quiet moment feels heavy with meaning. The dread is inescapable. There are some truly disturbing sequences, especially in the final act, that had my stomach in knots. Without giving too much away, let’s just say that this film doesn’t shy away from the more grotesque aspects of religious horror. Sweeney’s performance is absolutely gripping. She brings so much vulnerability and strength to Cecilia, making her a character you genuinely root for. I found myself completely wrapped up in her fear, feeling her desperation as she tried to escape her fate. The supporting cast is equally strong, especially the head nun, whose quiet menace makes every scene she’s in deeply uncomfortable. Visually, the film is stunning. The cinematography captures both the beauty and horror of the convent, using light and shadow to create an oppressive, haunting atmosphere. It reminded me of The Witch in how it uses period-accurate settings to make everything feel real and grounded, which only makes the horror more effective. This is the kind of film that lingers in your mind long after you’ve seen it. It’s slow-burning, disturbing, and filled with imagery that is as breathtaking as it is terrifying. If you’re a fan of religious horror that leans into its themes and doesn’t rely on cheap tricks, this is an absolute must-watch.
I enjoyed this movie it was twisted
Panalo!
It starts with intrigue, until about half way through, then the plot just plummets from suspense to dumbness.
Waiting the whole movie to see what the baby looked liked and definitely dropped the ball at the end like show us something .... it was ok nothing scary about it and the gore factor was over the top
Never been so disappointed of an ending before.
Sydney Sweeney delivers one of her best performances!
An often bloody Sydney Sweeney screams her way through this horror flick, showing some acting chops and kicking some serious butt in the process. Much like Dolly Parton a few decades prior, there's clearly more to Ms. Sweeney than, umm, meets the eye - she's talented. As for the picture, fans of the genre should dig it. The ending made me smile (ironically). Watch the volume on your 온라인카지노추천 however, or the neighbors are likely to call 911 (you'll see what I mean!)
In a world of of many insanities, Immaculate explores the life inside fountain of devotion like many of it's genre. From hot brandings to tongue pluckings, gruesome leaps to death and catacomb dwelling the story shift from apparitions and jump scares into a rampage and a prison break. This development through Cecelia's trimesters was smart. Also underlying story addresses the social issues masterfully. Visual metaphors were flawless about agendas for the newborns and silencing of women who speak out. Powerful audio effects to keep up the tension. Flawless visual effects and excellent performances.
It was very much overhyped but Sydney Sweeney commitment as both actress and producer and some genuine shocking moments makes this nunsploitation thriller a least watching once
That ending !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If one has already seen The First Omen, Immaculate is simply just pedestrian as a religious horror. It adds very little to the sub-genre beyond the idea of an evil immaculate conception, which it doesn’t really play with enough to make this as interesting as it could have been.
The lead actress really carries the film, but the major problem is it’s a film I feel like I have seen before. The plot is given away by the title, and the beats fall exactly where you would expect, but I will say the last scene will stay with you. Is it worth the whole film to get there, I don’t know.
