In Fear Reviews
Obviously shot on a limited budget, so the director decided to be minimal in his approach. He accomplishes this by not trying anything grand or exquisite. Mostly driving around in the dark of isolated rural England. The problems are characters and a story that really never grab you. Somewhat erie, but also monotonous.
Took me FOREVER to find the name of this film. I had been searching to remember this film I saw years ago off an impromptu Redbox rental night :) I remember being hooked from jump. Just thinking about how I felt completely enthralled and immersed into the position the characters were plugged into. This film has a brooding score and is gritty, well shot, superbly acted. Truly all of the elements that make up a thrilling adventure ride that can keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm really not sure why it hasn't gotten more pub but it absolutely deserves it. Alice Englert has gone on to do more and more but this little indie serves up her best performance in my opinion.
Only thing worse than a dull horror film is a consistently frustrating horror film. In Fear is the latter.

It was fine. Perfectly acceptable low budget horror. No high expectations here.
Wonderful small thriller confined to a few excellent actors in a limited space.
By the end you'll probably feel just as lost, none the wiser and wish you'd opted for going on that camping trip you've been putting off for years. Absolutely incomprehensible in its execution, yet compelling enough to waste 90 minutes on; without feeling the urge to demand life to recompense you for all the wrong decisions you made that led you to watch whatever.. THIS is.
Enjoyed film up until the last 5 minutes. The ending ruined the film for me. Wish In Fear had a better resolution.
It was OK. Good first half and then became infuriating. I just find it hard to believe that anyone would continue to drive in circles following signs to nowhere over and over again. I thought the acting was good but wish the movie had ended sooner and with more purpose. E.g. cut out half an hour of driving in the middle, have the characters put up more of a fight, and then create some sort of reasonable conclusion.
This was an effective low budget thriller similar to Blair Witch Project in some ways. Pacing and credibility of events is off at times, and the 2 leads weren't exactly endearing characters, but otherwise worth watching.
Don't believe the poster quotes. It's pointless.
One of the best thriller I've seen
The realism and feel of unease is done rather well, particularly in the first half of the film. And personally I think it could have worked if the movie had of concluded just after the fight toward the end... but alas no, and the movie's outcome is a bit pointless and nonsensical.
Started well but went so wrong so quickly. The first half of the film builds up tension very well with the encroaching darkness of the night combined with the claustrophobic, narrow country roads creating a real sense of primal fear. However, the events that occur around the halfway point of the film only really serve to undo the great work that came before.
If I had to hear that awful screech of a scream one more time, I was prepared to help the antagonist finish it.
It was an interesting thriller, wasn't sure if it was a super natural flick or was going to turn out to be a gory thriller. It was neither. The suspense was there and the acting was okay, so it passed the time.
Overall bad movie. It starts off slow and then gets a little better half way through, but the ending will leave you very disappointed. It just doesn't make any sense why they keep driving around in circles.
Tense and chilling, runs with primal fear of getting lost on a dark road at night and all the things that could go wrong, do go wrong.
well, that was a whole lot of disappointing
An extremely claustrophobic horror/thriller. Everything is scary, from the time of day, to the setting, to the villain, to the predicament our two protagonists face. There are definitely scares to be had, though imho there are more scares in Act 2 than then Act 3. Regardless its a really fun scary movie to watch.
