In Time Reviews
Disfrute verla tanto como la primera vez
Unique, fresh, new. I loved it. Not interested in any low rating, this is exciting entertainment. This should be rated higher imo. Incredible movie, makes me think of how relevant it actually is in our "normal" world, "screwed up" as the idea may sound, don't you think?
I found this movie's concept incredibly intriguing, and I had so much fun watching it. I highly recommend it for sci-fi fans!
oh i love an interesting plot for a scifi with a mix of action. overall, the movie was so entertaining
I got a lot to say about this one. This should 100% be remade and could be made easily into a trilogy with plenty of spinoffs and a prequel series. The opportunity here and combined with a director of the highest caliber and you could get a stone cold classic of the Sci-Fi genre out of this. And to this films credit the first 15-20 minutes it lives up to that promise. This throws so many ideas at you so quickly and the clock counting down right from the start gives this a frantic pacing. It's really good and unfortunately it's the best part as it very slowly just goes downhill. Looking back it's a wonder how that happens as it just has so much going for it. The clocks are cool, the ideas are amazing, and the world it does build here is very intriguing to start. Overall it's not half bad all around but what hurs it so much is the political "Rise Against The System" messaging that this hits you over the head with nonstop in the second half. Character devlopment, focusing on the ideas given in the first half all are left to the wayside as the film turns into a Robin Hood/Bonnie & Clyde Crime drama effectively. Your constantly beaten over the head with the system is controlling us, gentrification, the 1% are bad and it's not subtle at all. This needed to focus on the ideas and the characters NOT THE POLITICAL MESSAGE and it's so guilty of that in the second half and a major strike. On top of that the film becomes a game of cat and mouse with the time theives, time keepers, and her father allpursuing them and the resolution just gets a bit farfetched and the end it gets muddled and I'm not even sure how things went down. Third, the more it focuses on the 1% /Occupy Wall Street type of thing the more it exposes plot holes in the story. Your telling me NO ONE has ever tried doing this before? How are time banks not better secured and fail safes to prevent robbery of rich folk? Or some kind of master fail safe the time keepers can access to prevent this from happening. As much as there are holes beyond the ideas there are things this does well. The dialouge is good especially in the first half, the inital character setup is riveting seeing the way time controls everyone, seeing how the rich live and the card game is really good too. Too bad most of that is in the frist half. Murphy is great in this. J.T. and Amanda Seyfried aren't bad. They have some chemistry but other times they are kind of boring. Everyone else is a bit forgettable though and the more intteresting characters are killed off early. It's a shame this collapses so unexpected in the second half and just makes the pacing ok. Because up until the middle this is pretty good the entire way. Skip This and wait for the remake.
I don’t understand the hate this movie is getting. Is the strong premise better than the execution? Yes. Is the film well-made? Yes. JT gives a good performance but Murphy does his part better. The idea is really clever and a sci-fi way of looking at inequality in the real world. The dystopian world-building is effective.
Could be seen as an iteration of the matrix. The romance does feel a bit forced.
"In Time," directed by Andrew Niccol, captivates with its thought-provoking storyline and stellar performances. Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried shine as Will Salas and Sylvia Weis. Cillian Murphy plays a dick cop, and his brilliant performance has you rooting for the protagonists to escape. The movie’s premise, where time is the ultimate currency, explores socio-economic disparities in society. It’s a gripping narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat with suspenseful twists. It's a must-watch for fans of entertaining and visually captivating cinema. Don't miss it!
It was a good movie, people are dying as time passes, it's a good subject and a quality movie.
The idea, but only the idea, was a good one. The film, the writing, is such utter nonsense, and that in the highest degree, with major flaws, without end. I knew there was a reason why I never watched it back then. Unbelievable garbage.
Excellent concept, but the delivery was somewhat poorly. Still, it's a good watch
Loved this film, shame there's no sequels. Loved the idea we pay with time
Overall, an interesting concept. However, much of the acting didn’t stick for me. It felt unnatural, cliche, forced, and a bit cringy at times. There was a lot of dialogue dumping as well. For example, “It’s not like we have a million.” “You know what, we don’t.” This was their way of saying they were going to get a million (in time), but it felt unnatural. The actors, themselves, aren’t bad. Take Cillian Murphy, for example. He recently played Oppenheimer and won an Oscar, as many know. But, sometimes, a great actor suffers from a bad script. I believe this is one of those times.
Andrew Niccol owes me two hours
It's hilarious that some people think this movie is a praise to communism while the movie portrays a dictatorial regime where people are starving to death (where have we seen that?) and (SPOILERS) ends with the abolishment of the social police and the establishment of a free society where everyone has opportunities to grow, live and be successful (does that feel more like a capitalist or like a communist country? LOL).
The whole movie was boring starts out slow but failed to pick up the acting was bad could have been better
One of the better modern sci-fi movies going around. The premise isn't anything new but everything is well executed. The leads work really well together. The cops chasing them is probably the weakest part but then again cops are always kinda bumbling in movies. Re-watched several times if that counts for anything.
I like the massage in the movie that the time is the most valuable source....great movie
Sylvia is a horrible character with basically no agency, the infatuation she has with the MC is unbelievable and took us out of the movie. The whole economic concept is poorly executed as well. In this film our character goes to work for what we must assume is 8 hours a day only to get payed 4 hours at the end of the day. He also has time to sit in line everyday for a coffee? Yet another lazy critique of capitalism, we get it you hollywood types dont understand capitalism and are mad it even tho you're the main benefactors amd its raised the quality of life for everyone in the planet.
