Infinite Reviews
Not enough Dylan O'brien. Acting was trash. Dubbing was trash.
I don't understand why all the negative views on infinite, don't get me wrong, it doesn't bring anything new to the genre or have a story building foundation, but by heck it's entertaining, I have it saved on my virgin media box and have watched it at least a dozen times, Wahlberg falls into these sorts of movies 4 brothers is another film that you only watch to be entertained
it had potential, it just never made it.
There is a lot going on here that is reminiscent of a lot of other fantasy action/adventure movies and it is fairly well balanced with action that is explosive and well choreographed but... not another quest for a magical egg.
These action scenes are unmatched. The jailbreak sequence is mind blowing, and the finale doesn't disappoint. When death is no obstacle, the sky is the limit!
This is almost as bad as the Union. A movie that gets a half star only because it had action predictable at that. It’s a story where you don’t care about any characters and hope the whole world in which they exist including them disappears. Absolute garbage and a brainless waste of film and time.
Fuqua and Wahlberg are favorites of mine and I enjoy sci-fi. But sci-fi is subjective. Like any book I say read the first chapter and see what you think. For this one I definitely recommend you take look. I enjoyed it.
The opening action shots are fun and offer what should be a moderately funny and engaging film, but it fails to really connect you to why we should care about the Infinites' goals. Lots of plot holes and little emotional connection to the characters. It was a missed opportunity to play on the past life connections and the possibility of reincarnation leading to the betterment of those who go through it (besides their sword fighting skills). Jason Mantzoukas is wasted and should have been brought in earlier and given more to do.
Infinite, starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Antoine Fuqua, offers an intriguing premise about reincarnation and ancient rivalries but struggles to deliver a memorable experience. While the acting is serviceable—Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor bring energy to their roles—the characters lack depth, making it hard to connect with the story. Visually, the movie has its moments, with solid action and effects, but the direction feels bland, and the pacing drags. The plot quickly becomes convoluted, relying too much on exposition rather than building organic intrigue. It’s watchable for the action, but ultimately forgettable and unlikely to warrant a rewatch. A decent one-time watch, but not much more.
A lot better than people give it credit for, decent acting, good storie, decent special effects. In an age were scifi is taking a hit this does extremely well.
Could've been a good movie .. but it wasn't.
Infinite has some incredible action scenes, and in concept, a really interesting story. But, unfortunately, much of the film falls flat. The characters are bland. The film is fairly boring. Mainly because of these weak characters and the seemingly undercooked story. The antagonist had the most STUPID logic in my opinion. The acting is fine, but the rest is really not great. I wouldn't recommend, Unless you just need something on for background noise.
I enjoyed the high tech action. The story was a bit difficult to follow but its an action film. I liked how the human story was told throughout history.
The concept of this movie is good, the execution is pretty bad though. I saw some reviews where people didn't get the bad reviews and feel like we watched different movies. I also read where someone said it would have been better as a series so the story could be told properly. I agree, because everything was rushed and you didn't really care about the characters. Dylan O'Brien did a better job of showing who Treadway was than Mark Wahlberg. I like him generally, but don't think he was a good choice for the role. It seemed forced, but so did most of the other characters. Even the scene of them all getting out of the car seemed like they were trying too hard to look cool. I really wanted to like it, but only finished it to see how it ended. Even that felt forced.
We love Mark Wahlberg but couldn't even make it halfway through this movie. Interesting concept but painfully slow with poor character development. Both my wife and I had to end the boring madness after 60 minutes.
I wanted to like it. The premise is interesting and I usually enjoy Mark Walberg. I turned it off after the first hour. It's like a mix between the Matrix and Wanted but, much worst than either. The character development is almost non existent. The script and writing are both bad. An hour in the movie was still trying to explain it self and set up the back story. Even the action is nonsensical.
I definitely loved this movie & can't believe why it got such bad "reviews"...I loved the whole premise of the film.. reincarnation & remembering who you are...or were...great "fight" scenes...great characters...just wish it was longer so they could put more backstories in
Should have been called wanted 2 or old guard 2.
I am glad that they tried to make a movie with this plot but they picked the wrong book. This book is a rip-off of a much better strory: The 15 Lives of Henry August. The movie was uneven; the plot here was over-simplified. A few good action sequences. I like Mark Wahlberg generally. Not his strongest role.
