Thriller horror veramente originale come concetto e non solo; anche le location ed i personaggi sono piuttosto interessanti. Naturalmente a farla da protagonista è la scelta di una villain così particolare sia esteticamente che come caratteristiche; tanto sensuale quanto spietata. Proprio su questa contrapposizione di fatto si basa la maggior parte delle sequenze del film, nonchè la sua parte più riuscita ed interessante. Molto meno riuscite le seppur poche sequenze di azione, con combattimenti e morti piuttosto forzate e davvero poco credibili. Anche il finale non è particolarmente soddisfacente ma nel complesso l'originalità dell'idea ed anche il suo sviluppo sono assolutamente sufficienti.

It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it was a fun watch.

Influencer is a very solid and creepy thriller. Led by very good performances from the main two leads Cassandra Naud and Emily Tennant, this is a tight and chilling thriller. It’s a well paced film and rockets along within its short runtime, so you won’t get bored. Highly recommended if you are after an entertaining thriller and you have less than an hour and a half to spare.

It's like the characters were each competing with the others for who could ignore the most red flags. Visually lovely, with a very potent soundtrack that often overshadowed the actual dialog on screen. An interesting premise, but only works because the characters literally acknowledge their justifiable suspicious and then intentionally ignore them, making the story feel forced at times. Worth seeing once.

Not breaking any barriers but a totally decent thriller.

Massive plot hole…(spoiler alert!) Ryan claimed to be paying for that big home. He never brought it up again the first time he mentioned it, while CW was bossing him around. Why didn’t he kick her out? If he’s the one paying, why didn’t he just stop paying instead of CW calling all the shots. I know it’s a stupid movie and all but it was so frustrating. This movie was ok and it did keep me guessing on what would happen next. Wouldn’t really call it a horror movie. More of a thriller or suspense and I did like the ending.

Being devoid of interest to the point of scornful towards the "influencer" era, even a movie in my favorite genre promising to serve up some harshness to that ilk had me severely hesitant. But goddamn am I glad I pressed play, as this "Influencer" proves aptly conceived and executed in just about every respect.

I may have seen approximately a dozen or so Shudder exclusively distributed horror originals, and despite its minimalist script, I'd consider Influencer as one of the higher tier entries. Cassandra Naud's performance is brilliant here and definitely held my attention through this slow burn physiological horror; especially her incredibly calm and sociopathic monologue on the beach of the uninhabited island with Madison - utter chills. I continue to avoid trailers and synopses as I find, especially with films like this that receive predominantly positive reception, it leads to a much more satisfying viewing experience. It brings about an enjoyable mental exercise in trying to predict the progression of the narrative. My biggest qualm with this film is we don't really ever get a developed backstory or definitive explanation of CW's motivations for her actions. However, I found it particularly intriguing that I was constantly rooting for Naud's character despite her "fucking creepy" tendencies. Overall, enjoyable enough as a 90 minute Shudder Original and substantially better than most being released by the horror streaming service. Check it out.

Good fun film - wanted to give it 4 stars but just a little far fetched and some hammy acting puts it down to 3.5

The ending was not nearly as satisfying as it should have been. And you're kind of just waiting for it the whole time. You know it's coming, and it delivers poorly.

I only went for 4/10 because the ending was close to the ending I wanted to see. This movie is only 1.5h but it feels too long. It takes much too long to get the actual story, though I feel it never really got there. [slight spoiler ahead: >>> I had much rather seen the girl on the island uncovering her horrendous reality than what the movies was about.] The total lack of background and motivation to what drove the main character just makes this movie boring. It's trying too hard to be dark and some meaningful reflection on the influence of social media on society that it becomes just edgy cringe.

A genuinely surprising thriller (neither the exploitative slasher or empty commentary you might expect) that has both complex observations and genre thrills.

Perfectly realized, Influencer subverts smartly contemporary aspects of influencer culture and brings a fresh spin on the slasher genre. With amazing landscapes and strong performances, it's a standout film.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. It is part satire, part thriller. The cast is great, and Cassandra Naud is outstanding (especially in a swimsuit).

It kept me wondering "what's gonna happen next" but not in a good way. Ending was good…begging sequence was good but in between the movie never really goes anywhere. I understand reviewers saying "well who is the antigonist" but to both sides the characters would have to rely on them being more satirical and less realistic.

No idea what all these reviews are on about. Probably self PR and bots. Movie was terrible. Cliched tropes, stupid leaps in logic and influencers who makes friends right away?! Obviously the writer hasn't met influencers lol. Corny acting and lines. Poorly directed and acted. Only saving grace was some nice tourism shots of Thailand. Stay away. This is the movie you watch on TLC or whatever when you're hungover cos you can't change the channel. Painful watch. 2/10

It's a self aware horror flick on traveling and human character that takes new directions without being too serious.

Influencer (2023) is a suspenseful yet compact thriller that punches all the right beats and paces well within its run time. Great twists and turns, and I thought the changes in POV was a clever plot device to enhance the suspense. It's not ‘scary' per se, but rather it has a dark satirical humor about its subject matter that balances well with the awkward and uncomfortable tense moments. Of the recent modern films that have something to say about the dangers of social media and technology, this one by far is one of the smartest and well executed, if not the best.
