Minimal Stories Reviews
Slow, boring, & not very humorous...the Patagonian Argentina setting is authentic but there is little to the storyline & no climax.
Comforting and well-written, with good characters. Not much depth, but it's nice to have something light once in a while.
A low-key bittersweet comedy-drama set in rural Argentina. The main characters are 3 simple people who are traveling to a city each for their own reason. Not much happens, but everything in this movie has a truly genuine feel to it. What doesn't seem important to the viewer is a big deal to the main characters, as as in real life, little things make a difference.
For those who like every day stories that connect people to one another, this is a simple, yet very heartwarming film. Gorgeous shots of Patagonia, Argentina, with its almost infinite roads, desert plains, villages in the middle of nowhere. Recommended for dog lovers.
A beautiful look into the lives of simple, ordinary people. I'm not quite sure what the film's about; but, the journeys the characters take are relevant for humanity in general. The need for relationships, acceptance from others, and the desire to fill a need in another's life help give meaning to our existence. This film is truly touching and surprisingly rewarding for those who care to seek it out.
Slow moving, and yet not tedious. Quite nice, really.
An unpresumptuous commentary on interpersonal relations and such a wonderful depiction of human nature in its most altruistic state. This film is proof that raw talent and passion are the most fundamental resources in creating a masterpiece. It's amazing what can be done on such low budgets in Latin America when a few brilliant minds come together.
Muy chula. Altamente recomendable. Y curioso que los apellidos de los personajes luego coinciden con los de los actores.
wonderful story of three separate argentinians on their way down a main highway to the city for their various reasons... one to win a lame prize on a gameshow, one to try to win over a lady and an old man in search of his long lost (runaway) dog. it's a day in life as simple as it gets.
bu kadar sevimli insanlari bu kadar huzunlu yansitmayi nasil basarmislar bilmiyorum ama cok sevdim... ozellikle de sonundaki dogal mutluluk etkiledi beni...
Wonderful warm film with characters who warm your very soul. Fantastic camerawork but this is not for action fans or high drama as this IMHO is real cinema!
A very minimalist movie (no fancy settings, simple plots, mostly non-professional actors) of three people from a small town in the Patagonia region of Argentina, on their own unique individual quests (with some interesting intersections of their stories).
What a beautiful journey!! I've been wanting to watch this movie for so long and finally it is done. Better yet, I had the chance to hear and see the director explaining how each character is played by NORMAL people, and each story was written after finding all these people. You just have to watch it!
An Argentinian road story - three people heading for the same place. Very low budget with mostly non-actors - and it is great. A little uneven at times, but very effective.
This is a hard movie to review, mostly because it has to be a different experience for those who are familiar (or haven't been exposed to at least) small town life in the South of Argentina. This movie is about as far from Hollywood movie making as you can come. There are a lot of silences and subtleties that can only be found in independent films. The three stories themselves (three barely interconting journeys from the same place to the same destination) are mundane and only matter to their own protagonists. In part, this is what makes the movie so intresting. The movie is about the characters, and their journeys, and while seemngly nothing remarkable happens, they each experience minor growth from their journey, they are not fundamentally changed, but they are still not the same person that undertook the journey in the first place, which I guess is closer to the lives most of us experience. So: should you watch this? I don't know, to be honest, if you are looking for a holywood movie with big emotions and happenings, then definetly no, but if you like independent movies that feel different, its definetly worth a shot.
Sencilla,cautivadora,tierna....melancólica! Una pelÃcula para reflexionar que en la vida, la ilusión por las pequeñas cosas es un gran motivo para vivir.Maravilllosa!
