я подивився трейлер два рази і цього стало достатньо, щоб я не вмикав сам фільм. Не побачив ніякого навіть натяку на жах у трейлері.
CGI of it's day brings down a good story with good acting.
Otra película de terror que no goza de ser lo mejor del genero, con una buena actuación de Clive Owen y solo eso, se pierde en su propia historia.
There's some cool visuals and ideas here, but overall it's just a confusing, muddled mess.
Snooze-fest. I wasn't captured. I kept reaching for my phone. The only reason I saw it through, even after the horrid first 15 mins, was because I had hope that the last act could salvage the horse shit the movie was. Underwhelming is an understatement. The CGI was almost as bad as ‘From a House on Willow Street' or something like that. Don't watch this movie. It sucks.
this movie is not scary at all. The plot is apparently divided in two and tells the story of two different children tormented by the same monster, who is non-existent because he is a person or a suggestion. The only thing I think is positive is the final twist
Two stars for Daniel Brühl's pretty brown eyes. Half a star because I was high af when I watched this and I don't remember anything else except that a Deatheater scares a little Spanish boy and steals the voice of Clive Owen's daughter.
Clive Owen does a fine job here , but that doesn't make this movie good ...just good for one time only
A supernatural horror movie that packs no punch, gets waylaid by a moronic psychological explanation, and ends with what could be the most uninteresting denouement of any movie ever produced. The effects are few and far between, and mostly consist of tree roots growing uncontrollably. Clive Owen, whom I like, couldn't bolster this piece of crap.
Clumsy and confusing. I had no idea what the hell was going on most of the time. The constant switching between characters that were barely related to each other really threw me off too.
I feel like the negative reviews concerning this movie come from pretentious horror-elitists, or mindless thrill-seekers. This movie isn't pure jump scares, and there is no oscar-bait hidden in the script. This movie is somewhere in the middle. Very enjoyable.
This movie had potential...but lost it around the half way mark. Then I become bored and disinterested. Not worth watching.
(30%) A largely underwhelming spook show that bores more than it scares. And even though it does have Clive Owen, and he's a great screen presence as ever, but as he's written as blandly as everyone else then that aspect doesn't really amount to a whole lot. It's not a badly made movie though, as the direction is decent and the production values are perfectly fine, it's just not a very involving watch, and the few twists it has up its sleeve are not strong enough to make up for the lack of scares or the general slack pace. It's maybe worth a look for horror completists, but it's lack of entertainment value hinders this making any real impact.
