Had its moments, interesting ending, but overall, I didn't enjoy this film even though it had the legendary Steve Carrell in it which is why I wanted to watch it in the first place.

Hits the nail on the head with a flair of comedy. If you don’t get the point, I don’t know what to say. Love the cast and love the creative genius of Jon Stewart.

An honest assessment of political corruption, elitism, the corporate media & the failings of the "progressive" movement. Done with a lot of wit & irony. Very Jon Stewart.

I'd say it's worth a watch, and is funny in a lot of places, but not only does it make the republican that is running the campaign look like a lunatic, it also makes rural Americans look like idiots for most of the movie. The acting is good, Steve Carell will always do a good job. The cinematography/videography great quality and I like the look of it. Over all I liked the movies twist ending, I'd probably watch the movie again. It's a solid 3 and a half stars.

I only saw twenty minutes. Seemed like state media. Turned me off.

The fact that most people missed the Brilliance in this Movie kind of Saddens me. This Movie Perfectly encapsulates the US election process, "create" the candidate! The public is so accustomed to being marketed to, they can't distinguish between fact and fiction.

"Irresistible" is hardly a hard-hitting political satire and while it is funny enough, with Steve Carell and Rose Bryne in its cast, I expected a lot more. The story of a Democratic strategist helping a retired veteran run for mayor in a small, conservative Midwest US town, has some unexpected turns in its ultimate message about the political campaign system in America.

I laughed, I thought about political things. Pretty good despite too many cheap gags.

The movie is so simplistic and has the same plot we've seen a hundred times. The acting is great however, but even that can't save a very bad and preachy script.

This film has been poorly understood, and yet needs to be understood very well. Watch it right through until the very end. Some segments are shown during the credits. As a superbly well crafted production, this film is bound to be timeless; -Relevant to any era, seriously. Don't be misled by such reviewers' comments as "soft political satire," because this film is the iron-fist in a velvet glove, no doubt.

Struggling To Define The Pathway Of The Story, At Times The Abrupt Comedy Style Threw Me Right Off. Overall The Final Twist Of Story Adds Weight & Food For Thought, But It Wasn't Enough To Make It Anything Noteworthy.

This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I like politics, but the premise of this movie makes no sense. This film wastes the talent of its cast who I really like. It's pretentious and patronizing to demonize the entire political system. This movie would be better off being a documentary on Frontline. There is no entertainment value whatsoever in this film and I don't understand why Steve Carrel, who is so funny, would get involved in this project. Do not waste your time watching this.

This turned out better than I thought it might. There's a significant twist near the end that makes it interesting. It's a bit on-the-nose about the state of dysfunction of all that is politics and politics-adjacent.

Great movie that satires all things politics. Hilarious movie that is well written and acted. I would recommend for anyone that has any interest in politics and anyone that can stomach a movie about politics. It is worth it!

Commedia ironica, graffiante e clamorosamente volgare. Riesce ad evitare di scadere nell'offensivo verso quella parte più rurale dell'america, grazie ad un finale che però è proprio la parte più debole del film. Con un monologo denso di banalità e di ovvietà, scombussola la trama ma fa scadere nel melenso un film che aveva fatto di tutto per evitare questa sensazione. Steve Carell ormai ha costruito un personaggio fantastico nella sua depressione mista ad apatia.

The only thing that ended up making this worthwhile was the twist and surprise ending. Other than that, the story tried too hard to be big league and did not succeed.

This was a surprisingly uplifting, non-partisan satire attacking our flawed political system rather than any political group. It's cruder and less endearing than Parks and Recreation, but it's similar in that you could watch it with anyone of any political affiliation.
