Jerry Before Seinfeld Reviews
Great shows never seen the movies before
Watched this on Netflix and it has a lot of unfunny moments, but the hilarious ones more than make up for it. It's part autobiography, part stand up. Footage from Jerry's childhood and some shots around New York City are interspersed with his comedy show at the first club he ever performed in. He does his very first joke (which is hilarious) and the second one (which isn't as funny), and some that I was familiar with. Most of them made me laugh. I'm not as big of a Seinfeld fan as I was back in the early 90's but I did enjoy this show and I really needed to laugh. I think we all do.
Part stand up, part autobiography. This is a hilarious movie. I don't really think he's as funny as he used to be, but most of the stuff in this show made me laugh out loud. A lot of it I had heard before but it was fun to hear the stuff again.
I give it 2 stars cause I laughed the entire time about how bad it was. I think it's an age thing because I'm younger. "you TAKE an uber.." My friends and I still sarcastically yell that. SO BAD
simple stuff for simple people = success in the u.s.
He Is A One Of A Kind Comedian That Has Such A Classic Style, Which Is Disappearing On Stage As The Years Go On. Jerry Gives New Insight, Shares Some Rare Intimate Stories & Reflects On How Serendipity Begun His Now Infamous Name. I Really Enjoy His Humor & This, Along With Everything Else He Has Done, Is No Exception, He Simply Rises To An Occasion With Incredible Wit. I Love What He Does. A Very Funny Man.
Really funny stuff and he definitely still has it. I just wished it was all new material. Some great insight into who is is a comedian was good as well. 4/5
I was expecting less Seinfeld and more Jerry before Seinfeld. I'm a huge fan of the show, but I'd like to see some new content from Jerry. I already know all of those jokes by heart, so the recycling manages to wear me down. When will Jerry Seinfeld learn that we don't need to remember Seinfeld? We never actually got a chance to forget. I'd like to see Jerry get a bit out of his comfort zone and surprise us like he used to. I refuse to believe that this man's talent revolves around a handful of jokes and I'd like to be proven otherwise. This special has failed to do so.
It's an interesting look at Seinfeld's beginnings and while it's not bad by any means, it's also not his best material. If you're not a huge Seinfeld fan, this probably won't do anything to improve your opinion of his work.
I'll prolly watch this a few times. If you like Seinfeld, you should like this.
A total, utter & complete waste of time. Only redeeming part is a few stories from the 'old days' Ala Letterman he is just going through the motions recycling not only old material but his most hackneyed old. Material -- the sock trying to escape took five minutes. Come on now Jerry put some effort into it.
Good little Comedy Documentary to give you some insight into Jerry's start. It's not going to blow you away, but there are some nice laughs. Jerry is the master of observational comedy.
Loved it! Very funny set in front of a live audience with some background information on how he got his start.
It's a retrospective and a best of for Jerry Seinfeld, but little new is learned and Jerry just recycles mediocre jokes. Only a couple laughs in this and a bit of nostalgia. This appears to be a Seinfeld money grab and nothing more.
