Juliet, Naked Reviews
Hawke also performs a solo version of “Waterloo Sunset” that makes this rom-com worth your time.

Of all of Hornby’s works, Juliet, Naked is by far handled with the most care. Lightly funny while packed with melancholy along the way.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Aug 16, 2022
A pleasant, often funny, and quietly charming indie alternative to the hyperactive comedies and overwrought romances usually distributed today.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Mar 11, 2022
The thing that makes it great is what it doesn't have. It's a rom com that doesn't pander to obvious choices - there's no airport run or contrived fight that keeps the characters apart - and instead relies on the grown up pleasures the genre can provide.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Mar 4, 2021
The comic possibilities in the absurd encounter between the two, idol and worshipper, are peculiarly squandered, although this is presumably the film's guiding motif and reason for being.

This is a rom-com so relaxed and human that fans (or haters) of the genre may not recognize it.
| Original Score: B | Feb 4, 2021
A charming, well-written and well-acted romantic comedy.
| Oct 8, 2020
It's suspended in the mid-2000s without aspirations to gaze past its subjects' navels, and aside from the charisma of its performers, it coasts on yesteryear's clichés.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Jul 25, 2020
For those longing for a rom-com of the Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks variety, this one is love at first sight.
| Original Score: 8/10 | Jul 18, 2020
It's hard not to root for Byrne, Hawke, and O'Dowd, who are all delightful, in a "rom-com" that's more subversive than it appears.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Jul 25, 2019
too content to coast on the considerable charm of its stars
| Original Score: 3/5 | Jun 9, 2019
A trio of fine performances handle the depths of a failing relationship, and the spiky toxicity of fandom, well.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Jun 5, 2019
Juliet, Naked isn't profound but it is far better, and far more thoughtful, than most romantic comedies, a film made particularly enjoyable by its excellent cast.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 23, 2019
The message of accepting your past and working toward the path to recovery is one to really take to heart. It's a marvelous film with some of the year's best performances and writing.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Mar 30, 2019
The result is a film that is seen with some pleasure, although it is more for the charm of its protagonists than for its ability to take advantage of what it is telling us. [Full Review in Spanish]

This movie was just delightful.
| Original Score: 9/10 | Feb 25, 2019
The film does have some very funny moments here and there and the three central performances are undeniably appealing.

Each [actor] unfolds effectively in their scenes, showing precisely what in other hands would have been lackluster. [Full review in Spanish]

It helps that it has Ethan Hawke. [Full Review in Spanish]

The clever writing and genuine performances catapulted this film above the standard romantic-comedy affair, injecting some realistic humanity into its heartfelt storytelling.
