Kangaroo Jack Reviews
A very bad movie -- shouldn't have been PG.
| Original Score: 1/5 | Dec 24, 2010
Likable but negligible.

Brainless and inane, this is for undemanding kids only.
| Original Score: 1/5 | Dec 30, 2006
Parents beware: this film is too crude, violent and offensive for younger viewers.

It's a thin, tedious caper only notable for its impressive Outback locations and a cameo from Christopher Walken that proves the word 'no' isn't in his vocabulary.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 2, 2004
A competent and workmanlike action-adventure romp for kids, briefly enlivened by a funny cameo from Christopher Walken.

January films are the comeuppance all film critics must suffer for the treasures thrown at them during November and December. Seeing that 2002's holiday slate was one of the richest in memory, something tells me I'm in for 31 days of pain like no other.

Luckily, Australians can't take offence at the lame Aussie "you'd be a banger short of a barbie" stereotypes, because the American characters are just as puerile.

There's nothing to recommend the film.

Aussie-set comic fiasco.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has an unparalleled knack for assembling Z-grade talent, particularly when operating in family-fun mode.

It's clear it was intended to cash in with audiences of all ages, but the antics are distinctly childish, while the romance is sexually suggestive.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Jan 17, 2003
A collection of tepid chase scenes perked up, sadly, by moments of camel flatulence.
| Original Score: 1/4 | Jan 17, 2003
Computer effects have reduced a magnificent animal to a cartoon comic foil with human expressions and a yen for red licorice.
| Original Score: 1/4 | Jan 17, 2003
[O'Connell and Anderson] are mere pawns in the larcenous career of Jerry Bruckheimer, who will carry on making a plethora of movies that are anathema to anyone with half a brain.

Take a camcorder to the zoo and make your own kangaroo movie. Trust me, it will be far superior.
| Original Score: D- | Jan 17, 2003
Little more than an exercise in pockmarked dialogue, lame stereotype riding and even worse pacing.

Will parents be able to sit through Kangaroo Jack without plunging sharp sticks into their eyes? The short answer? Yes. Barely.
| Original Score: 2/4 | Jan 17, 2003
This is barely enough story ... to sustain a Three Stooges short, let alone an 88-minute movie.
