Kingdom of Heaven Reviews
The plot did move a little too slowly, but overall, it was an incredibly gripping and entertaining film. I definitely recommend it for history fans!
Interesting source material and fight sequences but that's where the good times end. Ridley Scott's cut is too long and leaves audiences bored one too many times. Orlando
When watching this crusade epic it’s got to be the directors cut or nothing. So many essential character building scenes had to be redacted for theatre viewing which lessens the experience. Overall it is a great first and second watch.
The actors do an ok job in this movie but the portrayal of the knights templars as lowly thugs and bandits is unworthy and stupid. The film is one dimensional despite its attempt to show both sides of the conflict. The characters lack depth and the storyline is not compelling.
Gladiator in Jerusalem. Good combination of action and storytelling. I particularly like that it depicts the muslims as three-dimensional characters instead of just the stereotypical "bad guys".
A Tale that should have been told extensively.
Fabulous film, absolutely loved it!
Directors cut is beautiful. Actually a deep historical film from Hollywood feels weird. Orlando Bloom is okay but not his best yet.
Top notch scenery and set designs. Acting from Orlando bloom is a little weak. The story is engaging in the beginning but fizzles in the second half of the film.
Great film that deserves a watch for history and action enjoyers.
Watch the longer, Director's Cut. This is the 5-star movie we should have been treated to in the cinema. Just, wow, what a difference. An entire plot line was removed for the original release; with the DC version, the movie is complete. More depth, more character motivation, more meaning.
If you can, watch the extended version. It greatly improves this already perfect movie
Gritty and honest feel. Deception and twist and turns aplenty. A young man is thrust into an in depth political and religious war that he has no real interest in, but he steps up and a city for lives, but not in the way you might suspect.
One of the greatest films on historical war-action, it is imperative that films like this are produced. Absolute Masterpiece.
Great film bit long though battles were good
Truly underrated for a history film!
Critics get things wrong half of the time.
It's really unbelievable how badly some films were treated in the press when viewers didn't yet have the opportunity to make their ratings public on a large scale. This film is definitely a sign of that. I would 100 percent recommend a viewing.
I’m not sure what’s more pathetic: the way critics would pan awesome movies in the pre-social media era, or the way they routinely bend over for bad movies today. When you watch Kingdom of Heaven, you can tell it’s made by the same guy as Gladiator. Orlando Bloom is Orlando Bloom, but there are a ton of really good performances. It also has a pretty sound message and conclusion given the contentious subject matter. SIMPLY PUT: IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THIS MOVIE, YOU JEED TO WATCH IT.
