Kodachrome Reviews
Kodachrome tries to touch with an emotional father-son story and the theme of memory, but misses its target. The movie drags with an aimless narrative style and quickly loses tension. Despite a solid performance from Ed Harris and Jason Sudeikis, there is a lack of real depth and development. The plot often seems inconsequential and offers little to captivate the viewer or make them think. Overall, Kodachrome remains a boring, uninspiring film that fails to exploit the potential of its subject matter.
These days i rarely make it through a movie on Netflix because i either lose interest, or the movie is just bad, or takes a weird turn. Kodachrome held my interest and was very enjoyable. Harris, Sudeikis, and Olson all did an excellent job in this story of a fractured relationship between dad and son. And Olsen was really good as the caregiver, while also adding just the right amount of sexual tension. I think most people will find this worth watching.
An underrated film that despite the over used plot of family forgiveness, has a ton of heart. As a photographer its a backdrop that I loved.
Great acting, interesting story line loosely based on actual events
The storyline was fairly predictable making this a light evening watch but then you are immediately taking notice of Ed Harris performance. Kudos to Ed on this one, the hospital scene was quite moving and I have mad respect for your craft!
C. The movie was very predictable (his romance with the nurse i predicted within the first minute she appears) too many clichés, but the last scene on the father's death was so well done it made it worthwhile to watch till the end.
It's a cliche movie. Old guy takes a trip with and estranged son or daughter. Bad feelings melt away as the miles click by for whatever reason. Heart warming reconcilation in the end with the offspring coming to some life changing realization. And really the ending just getting the film in on time, the death and the content of the photo's the son sees. Come on man, it's insulting it's so conveniently sappy. Maybe the acting puts it over average but I don't get how a formula plot can be above average.
Ed Harris was the best, Jason Sudeikis carried his role perfectly. You believed they were father and son. Besides the fantastic storyline, acting, and soundtrack, this hit home for me personally. (I would have watched this earlier had it popped up for me) My father was a professional photographer and newspaper editor. We had a darkroom in the basement of our house and I learned to develop black and white film, along with my brothers. Digital is fine I guess, but unprocessed is lost in the crowd, as Ben says. I think anyone would really enjoy this film, for one or many reasons.
This films plot is interesting and I liked some parts of it but it felt too bland and the characters weren't really interesting enough to keep me engrossed, so I felt a bit detached from it. Its sad in parts, which is to be expected given the plot but overall it didn't really stand out. It seemed to me like a film length 온라인카지노추천 show. An ok watch but nothing more really.
This movie keeps building until the poignant and emotional last 3rd of the movie when Ed Harris' amazing acting carries the movie to the end. You'll love this movie!!!
A good feel good / feel sad dramedy that is led by the good performances of its lead actors. Sure, it kind of is just another road trip movie, but it handles its emotions well and is a good ride to be a part of.
this was a nice watch - it's a drama so not a lot happens really & even though there's nothing to predict, you know what happens already - but i loved the dynamic between all three main characters. i thought everyone played their parts well & kept me interested the whole way through. I'm not sure i'd actually recommend it, but i did quite enjoy it.
Ed Harris is terrific! Jason Sudeikis is also very good, but the plot is quite obvious. Elizabeth Olsen is pretty, but doesn't have much to do. I liked Bruce Greenwood, Wendy Crewson, and Dennis Haysbert in their supporting roles.
A touching film with some great acting. Well worth watching .
Superb writing, well delivered. People who don't value dialogue, or sober complexity, or dark comedy, won't like it. People who do won't be able to forget it. Though Kodachrome may be gone, fortunately, think pieces will continue to abide.
I thought it was OK overall and an interesting story, but it seemed predictable. I also enjoyed the side story as they were on their way to Parson, KS, the last Kodak shop to develop Kodak film which has been replaced by the digital age. It was worth watching, good story
Great film. Full of reconciliation from a broken father-son relationship. A new sprouting relationship is also introduced that brings in past trauma, but ends up resolving delightfully. If you want a good cry and love to see relationships blossom, look no further.
