From the very first minute, La cocina grips you with its escalating tension. The film masterfully portrays the unraveling of its main character, taking us on a harrowing journey from evident eccentricity to full-blown madness. Every detail, no matter how small, contributes to the immersive chaos, making the story feel both intimate and universal. This is not just a tale about one man’s descent; it’s an exploration of how everyday conflicts, when left unchecked, can break even the strongest among us. The atmosphere is heavy, the stakes feel real, and the storytelling is deeply visceral. La cocina is an intense, thought-provoking experience that lingers long after the credits roll.

First experience with something from Ruizpalacios and could not have been better, despite the final arc being a little lost in itself it did not changed the astonished emotion that it gave me, really abducted me to the world created.

This movie is the innovative, chaotic, and entertaining. The visual aesthetics do the rest. Amazingly good.

A little long and chaotic. Nonetheless the film is masterful in its portrait of the lives led by the essential (but invisible) people that prepare and serve our food. I couldn’t look away.

#LaCocina, a visually stylish peak behind the curtain of a busy NYC restaurant, is deliciously frenetic during its service, but really shines in its quiet, vulnerable in-between moments. A stronger character focus would have been welcomed, but it's a captivating film nonetheless.

Una película muy pretenciosa, larga y sin una historia interesante, que además deja a los mexicanos muy mal parados en ese peque?o universo de inmigrantes dentro de las cocinas de los restaurantes gringos.

Siguiendo los pasos del cine indie, la historia nos permite conocer lo que ocurre tras bambalinas en un restaurante, con todo y el estrés que implica ese ambiente, con cierto sabor realista y, de paso, nos muestra la incómoda situación de los inmigrantes. Una de las mejores apuestas del a?o.

Good movie, but 30mins too long. Rooney Mara's subplot was totally unnecessary when compared to the overall immigrant theme.

A very intense movie with incredible cinematography and acting. The kitchen scenes are definitely like “The Bear” on steroids. Yes, cutting it back 20 minutes might have made it even better, but what do you cut? I left thinking “This isn’t a movie, it’s a work of art”.
