Increíble película que refleja poténtemente la realidad de un sector acomodado de Chile. Catalina Saavedra interpreta a Raquel, la nana de hace mas de 20 años de una casa del barrio alto. La constante tensión o discusión relativa a si Raquel es parte o no de la familia, y la competencia del cariño de su gente cuando llegan nuevas nanas a ayudarla, son lo que articulan el guión. Muy recomendable.

Dark and unforgettable. Silva crafts an atmosphere that allows the audience to experience the unexpected turns and actions of the lead character to almost be forgivable. It is this mix of style, story, fine acting and surprising story to blend into an odd and potent thriller.

Odd comedy-drama in which a maid (Cataline Saavedra), who has been working within her household for more than 20 years and has essentially assisted in raising the children for all that time. As she grows older, her superiors decide to enlist in a helper for her and she seems somewhat accepting of the notion at first. Unfortunately, it does not work that way. She schemes in psychotic fashion (and possibly under the influence of a cleaner she uses for the bathtub) to get rid of these maids. I think that story comes across fine, but I just wasn't all that excited by this movie. It did not stand out for me and I felt a bit disappointed by the ended. I didn't mind it, but I was not impressed by it. I wanted more, and I don't know why. It's the first I have seen from Chile and I really wish it was better.

Dirigida de un modo hiperrealista, La Nana es un estudio de personaje excelente, con actuaciones impecables, y trama genial. Bien podría considerarse drama/comedia/terror.

Boasting a bravura performance by Catalina Saavedra, an oustanding and well crafted script and a sensitive direction by Sebastian Silva, La nana presents us and turns an unlikeable persona into someone you're rooting for in this true gem of the chilean cinema.

A nuanced character study of a middle-aged housemaid. While the subject matter is not terribly exciting, the filmmakers manage to keep the story from getting melodramatic or boring, and convincing yet understated performances make the characters believable.

Siempre tengo problemas con las peliculas nacionales, siento que las actuaciones no convencen o que utilizan demasiado las escenas de sexo. Aca no fue la excepcion, pero en menor medida, me gusta la idea de la trama pero le criticaria la escenas con desnudos, ¿eran necesarias o relevantes? para nada. De todos modos se agradece una pelicula que no tenga que ver con los milicos o que no estereotipe tanto a los cuicos.

the ending sure stirred up some emotions; the actress who played Raquel was unnervingly good as the disturbed maid. hell, she looked spot-on for the role too. but comedy this was not. still boggled as to why/ how this was tagged as 'comedy' - for most part of the film, it was intense and definitely more of a 'downer' than an 'upper'; reality bites afterall.

A good one. Billed as a comedy, it's actually tragicomic. Another window on other lives, this time in Chile. Highlights the maid's inner anger: to be 41 and the servant of someone else's family, and to have no other prospects. Servitude is degrading. However it's ultimately funny and uplifting as a human story.

It feels like at any second it could turn into a horror.

Fine portrait of lonely worker who is conditioned, depressed and territorial, and her journey away from this.

A bit psychotic, interesting, feels like a dogma film, and I like it ends in a good note.
