The Last Winter" begins with a brilliant idea and a crucial social message. Unfortunately, the film merely revolves around these ideas and messages without sufficiently developing or elaborating on them.

Original great plot just needs to tweak everything into one pot!

The creative team seems far more concerned about advancing global warming alarmism than advancing a suspenseful or even coherent plot.. Sadly, the characters are about as real as Al Gore’s most irrational climate threats.

The audience score doesn't make much sense. I'm guessing it's from people who saw it as global warming environmentalist propaganda OR they made the mistake of not viewing it during the winter while in a cold weather climate.

A fascinating intermingling of environmental crisis and the myth––and Algernon Blackwood short story––of the terrible spirit of the northern wilderness, the Wendigo. From the Wikipedia article: "In some Indigenous communities, environmental destruction and insatiable greed are also seen as a manifestation of Wendigo psychosis." In this movie human greed for petroleum and indifference to resulting environmental destruction unleashes a terrible force that begins to spread across the land.

I would like to meet the critics who defined this movie as the scariest of the year! I found it boring and I would definitely put it in the thriller/ drama movie not horror! This movie has nothing of horror movies! Don't waste your time!

Sometimes confusing rant on global warming.

Unbelievably bad. Supposed to be scary but just pathetically dull. The fake suspense was awful. So glad i rented from the library and didnt pay for this awful film.

Wow, this movie was really bad. The plot was dumb, the acting was mediocre, the CGI antagonists were lame, and above all else the editing was some of the worst I've ever seen. The movie kept fading to black then abruptly cutting into a scene like it was a 온라인카지노추천 movie with the commercials cut out. I appreciate the environmental message, but this movie missed the mark on every level.

Really amazing promise that just don't deliver at the end... Weird camera angles and pasting choices. Won't say anything about acting and really poor CGI effects.

The Last Winter is set in exactly same setting as 80's cult The Thing, but it is focused on more psychological aspects then on the alien parasite. Which ultimately sucks the juice out of it. Movie is powerful in every way but since it ends in an abyss, it losses most of it's charm there.

A chilling slow burner with enough atmospheric tension to make up for the subpar finale.

I think it has a 33% on the audience side is because this probably wasn't a mainstream movie, it probably wasn't popular enough for more people to see it and give more opinions.

Wait, what just happened? This is one of the few times I was led astray by rotten tomatoes critics reviews. The acting was decent, and the film had some suspense and an eerie atmosphere, but WTF... The climax was totally confusing and the moose ghost took a fat dump on anything redeemable about the film. It seemed like the creators ran out of money 3/4 of the way through, took some bad acid and decided to re-write the ending. Critics, c'mon, really?

Fessenden has a penchant for environmentalism, a thing that in reality rarely goes well with pathos. Howeber, he managed to tell a story which, albeit slowpaced to the point of freeze, is genuinely eerie and cookie-deserving for an original choice of monsters (how many horned nature wights have you seen lately in horror?)

The Last Winter really has nothing going for it. The whole idea behind the madness is stupid. The anticipation leads to nothing and then it ends.
