LBJ Reviews
This movie is definitely not as bad as it is being rated. It’s a good movie and story of Lyndon B. Johnson. Not the best presidential movie I’ve seen but definitely not the worst. It’s powerful enough and good enough to pass as a movie that is worth watching. I enjoyed it.
First time I saw this movie and must say it’s pretty good. I really like the acting of Woody Harrelson. He plays a complex man who is both a man of power but also human. I like that a lot.
3 & 1/4 stars. Having been in high school during the era this film took place, I see the film from that perspective. Despite being so loved (until I read about his affairs), JFK brought great ideals, whereas LBJ made them happen.
Love Rob Reiner infinity.
So many great actors! I NEVER not completely finished a movie however this was painful to watch. I stopped at an hour. Slow and dull!
Totally mediocre film about LBJ. Pacing was horrid. The last half hour was dreadful.
I enjoyed this movie and thought Woodie Harrelson did an incredible job at portraying LBJ as we look at the man and his presidential leadership before and after the Kennedy assassination.
The film is interesting but plays out like a greatest hits rather than deep character dive. I am still waiting for a great film on this complicated man. All the Way was far better.
Rob Reiner's satisfactory biographical political drama depicting America's 36th president Lyndon Baines Johnson pushing forward against political conflicts John Fitzgerald Kennedy's proposed Civil Rights Act of 1964 in the wake of his assassination is uplifted by Woody Harrelson's masterful performance and Joey Hartstone's engrossing writing.
In a 온라인카지노추천-film way, it shows an ambitious politician which seems to change after murder of the president; what I am not sure if he continued being the same ambitious politician after all.
STRENGTHS: Strong performances all around and snappy writing. I't doesn't do anything crazy inventive with the camera work, but not exactly bad. some interesting shots. It tries much less than vice at comedy yet still turns out funnier. WEAKNESSES: Didn't focus on many more contr
Rob Reiner returns to the White House's politics to reflect the story of reluctant presidency, successfully relying on Harrelson's beneficially charismatic, transformative performance with decent makeup for a fulfilled role. Although, the story demonstrates a timely forgotten meaning and delivers minimal punches, it couldn't help but be bothered on the questionable length of focus of maintaining the accuracy of the main figures' accurate role besides the basic necessary facts towards the validated worthiness of telling the story with little presentation. Can't teach an old dog new tricks? LBJ really had a change of heart about racial rights...Woody plays him well.
underrated, Woody gives a good performance and nice storyline
From Rob Reiner comes the incredibly compelling political thriller LBJ. The story follows Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson in the mist of the Kennedy assassination as he's swept into the presidency and has to decide how to proceed with Kennedy's social agenda and what kind of president he wants to be. Starring Woody Harrelson, Jeffrey Donovan, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, the film has an impressive cast that delivers some really good performances. And, the script is especially well-written and uses flashbacks to cover Johnson's political career and history with the Kennedys. However, it kind of skirts around the Vietnam War, focusing instead on Johnson as the workhorse who turned Kennedy's dream into a reality with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. There's a rose-colored tint to LBJ, but it's still a fascinating look at the man who shepherded the country through an extraordinary crisis.
I enjoyed seeing a different perspective on LBJ, but I didn't feel it took into account so much more of who he was and why.
Ok, make up it's perfect, if only Leo Di Caprio had the same luck in that crap movie. Woody did an excellent job in my opinion, but i think the plot is far from the truth. And of course, it's funny because there's a conspiracy theory that claims that Wooddy Harrelson's dad was one of JFK's shooters.
