This one hits hard! Great film with a very deep message.

It's a real shame as this film has some really good ingredients including a fantastic cast and characters as well as the over arching theme of the death penalty. It's certainly a watchable tale, even 20 years on. However some key elements of the story are clumsily written and I'm sure could have been far more gracefully spun into the script and end product.

even though the ending is predictable now, it probably wasn't 20 years ago when it came out - Kate & Kevin played their parts really well & overall I really love movies like this. i thought it was well done. a really good watch overall.

Kevin Spacey gives life to this amazing storyline, it made me wonder how often innocent people are found guilty.

Great story, great cast and keeps you guessing until the end.

Yeah, the final twist is truly awful (something you can see coming a mile away but then think, "No, No, there's just no way it would end that way" and then it does) however, the rest of the movie isn't much better. It is the stuff of cheap and trashy melodrama with the added unearned smugness of trying to say something important.

Absolutely love this movie. very gripping with a fab twist! I feel the movie is very underrated sadly, Its a movie I always recommend to people, when it ends it causes debates on the topical issue.

This brilliant movie is just one of so many movies that are a proof that the criteria for critics on this site is simply rotten. It has become the laughing stock of the entire Internet, there are hundreds of memes about it. At this point, most people are actually looking for movies with a lower critic score and higher audience score. The Tomatometer® Criteria is dead. It cannot be adjusted, it must be simply thrown away. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

It takes itself way too seriously for this kind of shlock.

Um filme onde Kevin Spacey vai para o corredor da morte por estupro, a vida imitando a arte ou a arte imitando a vida… O Plot twist não é tão imprevisível, nem surpreendente, pois na primeira matade somos instruídos a pessoas exatamente nesse desfecho, mas ainda sim poderoso, por conta dos adendos finais, mas um excelente filme, adorável comprovação, a Pena de Morte não é 100% eficiente...

Very underrated, great acting and storyline. Recommended if you are after a thought provoking thriller.

Muy buena película, un drama con bastante suspenso que entretiene mucho por su gran historia. Para empezar, lo que mas me sorprende es la pésima calificación que tiene por parte de los críticos, porque puede parecerte mala o aburrida pero con estas criticas la tiraron abajo. La historia esta muy bien, en mi opinión muy entretenida debido a la acción y la intriga que te da ganas de seguir viendo en todo momento, a pesar de que el ritmo no ayuda mucho con esto ya que puede llegar a cansar por momentos. Las actuaciones son excelentes en general, pero destaco principalmente a Kevin Spacey y Kate Winslet que realmente la rompen. Una cosa que me gusto mucho es el final, realmente la historia da un giro impresionante que en mi caso no me lo veía venir en ningún momento. En conclusión, una película muy buena, original y entretenida, con una historia fuerte y llena de giros que la hacen mas memorable. Muy recomendada.

A movie that wanted to make a stance on their political message with one of the most extreme cases ever. I feel this movie would've been better off being an hour an half and telling a more coherent story.
