Lincoln Reviews

A great history movie. One of the more deeper Steven Spielberg films.

This movie is an absolute masterpiece by Danial Day-Lewis. It’s the best possible portrayal that I believe we can get of Abraham Lincoln. The turmoil of the Civil War that has clearly taken a physical toll on Lincoln and then the continued infighting between what’s left of the Union Congress. This will definitely be a movie that stands the test of time and as of 2025 I’d say it has.

I was very bored when watching this movie! Not cool!

This movie was well acted and told the end of Lincoln’s life pretty well. I do wish it had more of his earlier life. This movie may have been better tittled 13 or Thirteenth Amendment. I did love it and I am a fan of Lincoln.

Lincoln is quite an achievement by Steven Spielberg. A period piece authentically brought to life by one helluva fine cast! Daniel Day-Lewis is such a great actor that he makes playing difficult roles look easy. In doing so, it is sometimes easy for the audience to overlook the brilliance displayed before them. His performance was truly Oscar worthy. A great cast, great acting and overall, a very good film. I do recommend. 89/100

Great movie. Abraham Lincoln is such an inspiration and this fantacy film on him is really good. I watched it about 5 years ago and it still entertaining. I watch it again with my friends tonight and its still entertaining as it was when i first saw it...

Dreadfully dull! If you're an insomniac, I recommend this film as a cure. The title is a misnomer as we learn little about Lincoln's life except for this concentrated snapshot in which everyone talks incessantly about not much. Call it "The Thirteenth Amendment". If you're looking to learn about the man, you'll be disappointed. The twee treatment of the Gettysburg Address is typical Spielberg who ought to stick to sci-fi spectaculars and leave insightful biographies to the experts.

Daniel Day-Lewis's portrayal of Abraham Lincoln is spell binding and Steven Spielberg did an amazing job of bringing the story of the passage of the 13th amendment to life in a way no one else could. If you are at all interested in American History, this is a must see! My wife and I will every few years watch it on or near Lincoln's birthday. Enjoy! P.S. It is a bit long, so you may want to watch it over a few nights. P.P.S. A few of the historical details, have been tweaked to add to the drama of the movie. But generally, it jives pretty well with the facts of history. :)

A very charming witty historic film

Lincoln was a good historical drama. Daniel Day-Lewis' performance is spotless as expected. Tommy Lee Jones plays the typical Tommy Lee Jones character so that helps to enliven the movie. Spielberg does not leave a lot of his personal taste on this movie, most likely because of the heavy subject. I don't dislike this movie, it was a pleasant enough watch, it's a good film, but it just doesn't really speak to me. I'd recommend this to history or drama buffs

Really disapointed because Lincoln was actually an amazing wrestler and was never beaten….and this failed to be in de movie like wat da fuck Also Daniel day Lewis didn't shower for months to "become Lincoln" …. Need I say more ?? —his stench emanated through the screen surely be to god and caused my attention span and tolerance to wilt. Absolutely disgusting no place for that at all
