Little Women Reviews
This movie is really inspiring to women all over. The movie has a very great cast of actresses and the story is easy to follow and great.
Enjoyable modern adaptation of Little Women. The only thing really wrong with it was the abysmal casting of Laurie. Still shaking my head over who thought that actor was right for that role. And the professor was too handsome. It hits all the other notes though.
This is a so stupid movie! I understand that there has to be a quota of bad movies and this is part of it!
True to Alcott! Delightful in the modern world without ruining the morals, values, and sweetness of sisters! An absolute treat!
This version of Jo is so angry and narcissistic. The actress that plays Jo completely butchered the character's strength and charm. I'm hopeful the new 2019 version starring Saoirse Ronan and Emma Watson is better, and is closer to the original charmingly beautiful story Louisa May Alcott wrote.
It has its potential and moments of warm sentimentality but weak direction, Sarah Davenport's garishly overbearing performance as well as the unlikable rendition of her prominent character will not replace any of the other versions out there.
This more modern retelling of a sweetly beloved story on sisterly relationships provides a fresh look for newcomers due to generational close connection by the young performances in an enabled proving matter that the earlier adaptations aren't exactly essentially required for prior viewing before seeing a recent remake. From that realized point, the other adaptations can be treated as ancestors to this narratively-resurrected incarnation as more of a teen drama with the basis emotions effectively duplicated while leaving the connection questionable as pivotal test for a worthy remake. This should have been straight to dvd or, one of those awful lifetime movies they show on television. I don't even think little kids would like it because Jo just seems to be angry all the time, Marmee is pretty much nonexistent, and there's an obvious older guy that plays Laurie. They could have found a decent actor to play Laurie, but they didn't. The whole thing seemed lazy as though they didn't really care how the updated version came across. The essence of what Alcott was trying to get across isn't there. This version is just as redundant as the one they did in 2017 with a grown-up Amy. Better watch the old version with boxxy software app.
I watched this movie on movie theater, I have no patience to watch it again, sure using that new app Boxxy Software for free.
The main character Jo is very unlikable. I couldn’t get behind her as the protagonist. The other part of the story and the characters were okay and matched up well with the original story. It just seemed that Jo was always only about Jo. Yeah, there was a bit of a transformation at the end but overall her personality was so one dimensional and an awful one at that.
love this updated story about the March sisters. Sarah Davenport's Jo seems as close to literary Jo as I have ever seen.
a big challenge bringing this tale to modern times, a challenge it met for the most part. i was skeptical as i love the book and more classic movies, but i lit me up, and brought tears,, the story lives on and that is the main idea,
I thought this was spectacular. These young actresses and actors did a wonderful job. They were very successful sending out the old story in a modern way.
Saw it with my two daughters. I will treasure the memory!! Great movie!!
I have not seen the first movie or read the book, but I really enjoyed the movie with my significant other. I was delightfully entertained for a "chick flick" and even had to hold back a few tears. Last but not least, A NEW STAR IS BORN!!! Sarah Davenport was absolutely my favorite and I look forward to seeing her grow in years to come!
Excellent new version, actors and actresses all did a wonderful job. Followed the original story very closely. Really enjoyed seeing this on a girls day out with family.
