The Lost Boys Reviews
Greatest vampire movie ever.
Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, a história é fraca, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e mais relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom.
One of the best vampire movies ever made, if not the best!
The Lost Boys (1987) If you don't like vampire movies you'll like this one, could save your life! Director: Joel Schumacher Cast: Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Dianne Wiest, Barnard Hughes, Edward Herrmann, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Jamison Newlander, Brooke McCarter, Billy Wirth, Alex Winter and Chance Michael Corbitt. Plot: When a mother and her two teenage sons move to Santa Carla, it does not take long for the brothers to realize that something out of the ordinary is happening in the town. The Lost Boys is a nostalgia base thrill ride that doesn't stop, with the best soundtrack from any 1980s movie. When someone ask me what your favourite scary movie? More often then not I'll have four movies and one of those four is The lost Boys. Now you might think what's so great about it, while that's what I'll be talking about today. First of all the storytelling, the plot is simple but effective with every scene flowing perfectly with the next, keeping the plot moving without any unnecessary filler scenes. With one of the best third acts of all time, with it's blend of action, horror and comedy on full display at the end. The Lost Boys has some of the most interesting characters in cinema history with each of them having a moment to shine, the only slight issue I have is the scrip really gives more to the side characters then to the main character Michael, who comes across boring to the rest, not taking anything away from Jason Patric performances who does do a good job, however I've always found Michael to be a bit underwhelming. The Lost Boys has the best cast assembled in the 1980's from great rising stars at the time like Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, to the more senior cast members in Dianne Wiest, Barnard Hughes (WHO BY THE WAY STEALS EVERY MINTUE HE'S ON SCREEN AS GRANPA) and Edward Hermann. The cast to me is what truly makes The Lost Boys an all time great movie. From a movie making point of view The Lost Boys is perfect, Joel Schumacher is at his best with the sound effects, lightening and set designs all being top notch. The make up design on the vampire's are simple but effective, really giving each vampire they're own different look. However the best thing about The Lost Boys is its wonderful scrip, having some of the most memorable and best lines in horror movie history, Introducing new rules to the vampire law (even some modern day vampire movies use these rules) and finally with its excellent blend of comedy and horror really putting the two together perfectly. After all that being said The Lost Boys is truly a classic and I would encourage anyone to watch it. The Lost Boys is a must see. You can stream it on Amazon prime video. RATING: 8.8/10. My favourite movie ever. They sure don’t make them like this anymore. 80’s vibes and classic movie with nostalgic feelings. It works so well. Great soundtrack and great 80’s cast. Prime location. Humour and horror work so well. Joel Schumacher’s best. This movie works so well because it’s so much fun. Enjoy.
One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach: all the damn vampires.
A Cult Classic that Still Bites - "The Lost Boys" Review Rating: 5/5 stars "The Lost Boys" is a iconic vampire film that has aged remarkably well since its release in 1987. Director Joel Schumacher's clever blend of horror, comedy, and coming-of-age drama creates a unique viewing experience that continues to captivate audiences. The film's setting, a fictional California beach town, provides a sun-kissed backdrop for the dark and moody vampire lore. The special effects, although dated, still hold up surprisingly well, particularly the vampire transformations and death scenes. The cast delivers standout performances, with Corey Haim and Jason Patric shining as the two brothers at the center of the story. Kiefer Sutherland, as the charismatic and menacing vampire leader David, steals every scene he's in. The chemistry between the actors is undeniable, making their characters' relationships feel authentic and relatable. The film's themes of teenage angst, rebellion, and the struggle to find one's place in the world are timeless and universal. The movie's soundtrack, featuring tracks by INXS, The Call, and Echo & the Bunnymen, perfectly captures the mood and atmosphere of the film. Overall, "The Lost Boys" is a cult classic that continues to enthrall audiences with its blend of style, humor, and horror. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it – but be warned: once you've entered the world of the Lost Boys, you may never want to leave.
Charmingly eerie, with an outstanding soundtrack. This movie will grow on you.
“Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire.” The cast, the soundtrack this film exceeds expectations. I love the whole storyline. 5/5 stars.
Definitely a movie you want to see on the big screen. Want a fun experience!
If 10 stars was an option I would put 10 stars, this is one of my all time favorite movies and a must see for any fan of Cult Classic films! Thank you Harkins for bringing this incredible film to the big screen, the best way to experience the film!
This movie is an all-time classic and Im so glad that my family and I got to see it on the big screen! This wasnt just a movie, it was really an experience
I LOVED it, the amazing humor mixed with the alluring and mysterious vampires was an amazing combination
First time seeing it in theater still a great movie
While certainly flawed in places and easy to take for granted nowadays in an age where young and hip vampires are more common nowadays rather than being something brand spanking new back as it was back in the '80s, The Lost Boys is still a fun vampire flick with good performances, memorable characters, a decent mix of comedy and horror and one hell of a soundtrack. Never let it be said that Joel Schumacher was incapable of making a good movie just because of how badly Batman & Robin missed the mark because even if this film isn't a work of art, it's still an entertaining film that should be credited for, after years of their kind being pigeonholed as aristocrats with funny accents, bringing forward the oxymoronic statement of bringing new life to vampires.
A good, 80's vampire movie with a different spin on it compared to the usual ones from around the same time. Worth watching at least once.
Loved this movie. Sensational atmosphere that brings the viewer into the heart of the movie that does not disappoint. Great script which encapsulates the desire of an outcast who feels the need to belong in the gang of "bad boys" who turn out to be more than rebels with a sinister plan. Great acting with punches of humor woven throughout the film, makes this movie a winner.
Though it does have some iconic segments and style, the film story (and one or two of the characters) are so unlikely and ridiculous it just doesn't do the film any justice.
This is one of my favorites… Sam Emerson is the coolest guy in cinema…
The best vampire movie ever made. One of the top 5 horror movies of all time.
