Loved this movie! I hope they make a sequel to it!

Love and Monsters is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The main character is played by Daylan OBrien, you know that all movies where he played was masterpieces. You need to see it. It's a movie directed by Michael Mattews in 2020. The plot tell the story of Joel, a young man who has to join his girl friend at 180km seven years after a monster apocalipse. So, Joel leave his bunker and try to fight these monsters to join his girlfriend, or not... Michael Mattews really find the best actors for each roles and Daylan OBrien was made for his role. The acting of actors was so good that I forgot I was watching a movie. Landscapes are absolutly beautiful, costumes match with the plot and I was intimidated by the amazing special effects. Moreover, we understand the risk of chemical products during the movie but it's a little bit surealistic. To resume, you have to watch this film (write it in your bucket list), special effects are inpressed, the plot is really goodwritten and films techniques are amazing.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this film, it is really excellent. The moments of drama are excellent although the comedy is weaker, they are actors performing a script rather than comedians adding some of their humour. That doesn’t bother me though as the characters are so charming and engaging. The whole film looks and sounds beautiful, everything is perfect from the set design, the cinematography etc. What really makes it are the engaging and charming characters. I’m a bit bored of films set in LA. Anyway you could draw comparisons to the Fallout franchise or A Boy and His Dog (1975) but really I see it as an homage rather than a comparison. The film is very entertaining, great throughout, I loved the writing, it has a really strong ending and the journey is excellent!

Hidden gem-I loved this movie!

Sorry but this is not a good movie. Cant understand the high rating at all. Bad acting, terrible humour and jokes. Very kliché overall. A kids movie at the best. Sorry but I expected more from the high rating. Many people seem to think its great.

Perfectly balanced and well-scripted movie with enough thrills, heart, comedy and depth to appeal to all audiences.

An entertaining feature I expect was geared to teens. I heard about it from my son in law who watched it a few times. I expect he identified with the lone man trying to fit in and find love. Some of the themes / situations were inappropriate for teens. Regardless, it had some originality despite the silly / unbelievable monsters. Saw on Amazon.

Oh man, this was such an enjoyable movie to watch. I held my breath the whole time. A brilliant main underdog character, the monsters and the danger were so well realized. Loved the message of finding beauty and kindness in this new, harsh world.

This is a fun comedy sci-fi without being too predictable, they get the balance just right.

Despite the fact that Aimee was a complete waste of time, I think Love and Monsters is an epic, revolutionary and incredibly well-made film. From the horror to the comedy, everything is very well balanced and Dylan O'Brien leads it successfully.

What I like most about this movie is it's just a normal guy trying to find his way in a hellscape world. He's not a super soldier or has all this training to go off of. He's just a normal guy and with that comes mistakes that anybody could make and he learns and grows from them. This movie will make you laugh, root for the characters to succeed and a couple times even a tear or 2 could be shed. It's absolutely one of my favorites.

A perfect example of a movie made purely for entertainment. I will definitely be watching this again.

A fantasy-romance masterpiece

The perfect blend of exciting and funny. The movie never gets too funny to take away from the excitement. One of the most enjoyable movies I've seen in the last few years

more love than monsters , otherwise a great movie with great actors. good movie possibly to watch with family or your little sister or something. its exciting, fun, not that cliche and overall just a good movie.

This movie should have been cheesy, cliché, and populated by badly CGI-ed monsters. Instead, it tells a fresh story in a fun way. It's not a complicated story, and it's not a complicated world it is set in, but Love and Monsters uses that to its advantage. By removing all the heavy exposition and dark tones of other apocalyptic movies, this one stands out as a brighter entry in the genre. Dylan O'Brien works perfectly in the role, with the other characters all complementing his performance. It's an enjoyable watch, a refreshingly standalone film.

What a surprise! This is one of the best new movies that I have seen in recent memory. Dylan O'Brien is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors to watch. His performance is incredibly charismatic and the growth of his character is inspiring. At its core, the story is straightforward and realistic, even though it's a post-apocalyptic journey. Every relationship in this film has substance and charm. Unlike another film in the same genre ("Cloverfield"), I actually cared about what happened to each character. I wanted Joel to succeed, I wanted him to find love and confidence along the way. Though it's quirky and unconventional at times, there is true emotion felt throughout. "Love and Monsters" is a comfort film. I never thought that I would say that about a movie where 95% of the population is dead, but it's true. This film has so much heart and was truly a joy to watch. I will recommend this movie to anyone and everyone. Additional note: The scene with MAV1S made me cry. Pixar level heartstring pulling. Favorite Quote: "Good instincts are earned by making mistakes. If you're lucky enough to survive a few mistakes, you're gonna do all right out here."

Because it was a pandemic release but filmed prior, it turned $30,000,000 into $1,000,000, and that is not a fair assessment This is tightly written and because of that it feels more substantial than its run-time. Unlike too many movies now, it is not overcooked and bloated, it has three distinct hero's quest acts and zips right through them. It is a perennial enjoyment.
