Love Happens Reviews
the only thing that i liked about this movie is the lemons in the opening scene. i didnt feel emotionally connected to any of the characters. despite the fact that burke gets very emotional often, i didnt really come to care about him at all. to conclude, bad acting , bad use of the plot, boring, no love, no chemistry, no emotional attatchment to the main leads, going in loved the start, coming out, they are definetly breaking up in a month, waste of time, do not watch.
I feel like I should give it a 2 star rating but I just can't really find a reason too fundamentally. Terrible Editing & Pacing. This is the core problem. You have 2 stories here. The stereotypical Romance and the greif seminar story and the two never interact together in the slightest it feels like. On top of that in each one they are so poorly done where it feels like random stuff just happens until we get to the cliche climax moments of each. The music is boring and forgettable. The cinematgraphy isn't good with basic direction, no memorable locations, and lots of scenes are tugging on the heartstrings, don't make sense like the bird or feel pointless. The acting is alright I guess. The two leads don't really have any chemistry, Aniston continues to prove she was a one hit wonder with Friends and just plays herself in everything and can't act really. Everyone else is forgettable. Skip This. This is just a lot of nothing and yet there is a lot of opportunity with a plot like this that is just wasted.
In my opinion, the movie uses very good camera and audio visual equipment and the crew members and the filmmakers have played their roles very well. I really liked it.
Awful, awful movie. Such a cheap, cliche soup stupid opera with bad plot and even worse acting. I am not surprised for Aniston as she ain't a real actress, but I used to respect Echart, not any longer. Wasted time. Please, do not watch as you will regret or even worse - you'll be angry at yourself.
I liked the movie better than the reviews but the film drags at a point when it had so much promise. I felt the chemistry between the leads was charming but then oddly fades away as the story unfolds. I can only feel it took a back seat to the telling of the lead's story. The performance by character actor John Carroll Lynch was the best part of the movie. It was touching and endearing.
It is heartfelt and well acted but too slow and predictable.
Perhaps not her best movie but Jennifer Aniston is still the best and most consistent actress of the last 30 years and it's always a joy to see her on screen.
The movie is ludicrous and dull . The worst point is when the hero releases his deceased wife's pet parrot in a woods to be ‘free' . We're meant believe the domestic pet would know how to survive in the wild . At the end of the movie , the bird has miraculously managed to leave the woods and fly many miles to return home. Why Jennifer Aniston agreed to star in this unbelievable plot baffles me .
2.7 . Definitely not that bad at all
It was a sweet movie. We had Aaron Eckhart‘s character of Burke trying to find his way in the world after the loss of his wife helping other people but not entirely helping himself. We have Jennifer Aniston‘s character Eloise who I guess has been unlucky in love. They don't really develop her character very much. They could've done a lot more with it. Is it just me or is that the least parrot like parrot. It's probably because it's a cockatoo. And also why would they release a cockatoo in the wilds of Seattle? There just needed to be a lot more character development. Unfortunately the relationship is too rushed after he finally let's go of his guilt. You need a lot more time to process that before jumping into something with someone else. In the end the movie wasn't fantastic, but at the same time it wasn't awful either.
As a former parrot owner, I hated this movie for even suggesting that it is ever OK to release a domesticated parrot into the wild. In most cases, it is a death sentence to the animal. Pet parrots don't know how to find their food, they don't know how to avoid prey. They think they are humans and are bonded to their owners. Sure, it was a plot device and the parrot comes home in the last scene, but for all we know the parrot is dead. The cast was talented, but the leads had no chemistry. We learned nothing at all about Eloise in an hour and a half. Save your time and money and find something better to watch, this film was just plain awful.
Title is misleading, it's not a romantic movie. I believe that's why the ratings are so low. It's a good movie nonetheless. About grief and being true.
Well this was just down right painful to watch. Two very well groomed actors with perfect highlights and no chemistry whatsoever in a very cliche and dull plot. The best thing about the film was the flowers. They stole the show. And they didn't even have to act.
I do not care what ridiculous movie critics.. what matters is my opinion.. it is not a dull movie ..
Nothing truly significant is given by this movie compared to most movies in its genre . It was so very boring.
I know it's just a rom-com but they lost me when they released a tamed cockatoo into the wilderness of Seattle. The bird would be dead in no time. What a dangerous and stupid scene to put in a movie for people to potentially replicate.
