No real story line just a bunch of infected people and a guy and his daughters who’s infected has to put her down the ending was predictable ending she kills het self so her father doesn’t have too

This is a niche zombie movie that focuses in on the emotions that come along with your family, friends and neighbors who have “turned”. If you lack empathy or compassion then this isn’t the movie for you. It’s meant to make you feel. Side note, I never realized how good of an actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is. He was very believable in this role.

I love zombie movies that redefine the genre. This is not your typical and cliche zombie movie. It offers a different take on the way people handle the problem. Arnold gives a stellar performance as a dad who takes care of his affected daughter, til she turns completely. It's when he is presented with this heart wrenching choice, that you see and feel the pain, that he has too encompass. He has to turn his daughter Maggie into the authorities for termination.

A father (Schwarzenegger) and daughter (Abigail Breslin) deal with accepting the consequences of her being bitten by a zombie. A subtle horror that is thoughtful account of the strong relationship that should exist between a father and his daughter. Ahnold pulls off one of his strongest performances, turning his famous scowl into a mournful intensity. Breslin compliments him well. Also interesting was they gave the infection a name, Necroambulism. Beautifully shot.

Wonderful film Schwarzenegger demonstrating what a talented actor he is . An excellent film demonstrating the horrors of a pandemic which we have now all lived through.

I will give them credit for promising a slow, bleak death march and delivering one but unfortunately that's all the film is. There's no real sense of who these characters are outside of what the film needs them to be and since we don't understand them there's no reason for us to care. Breslin almost makes it work but she's not given much to work with. As to Schwarzenegger, it's nice to see him embrace his age for once but the illusion that he's giving any kind of revelatory performance can only be sustained for so long by disguising him with a beard, flannel shirts, and a lack of one-liners.

I guess I understand where the negative reviews come from. Some people sought this movie out to see another infection-based gory film with guts and grossness. This movie is NOT that, and I am so glad...I have always sought out apocalyptic movies with heart and humanity..I love the movies where the infected get better, where there is hope, where there is a bit of humanity even in the mayhem of an apocalypse. This movie is a movie about learning to let go, even when the illness is terrifyingly real. It's a girl with a terminal illness and a dad who must come to terms with losing every human trace of his little girl. I love that the focus is not fighting hordes of infected. It's slow and it's a true drama that really fleshes out the characters. If you are looking for a cheap thrill with multiple kills and horror-movie zombie make-up in your face every three minutes, this is not the one for you. If you are looking for a tear jerking, cerebral flick about loss with a few scares, this is the one for you. Unique but very compelling.

The unusual nature of this zombie film is that the virus causing this plague has become an accepted part of life. Therefore, the plot is more about relationships adapting to this horror rather than the blood & guts of all other zombie movies.

A nice job of acting from Abigail Breslin and Arnold helps pull this movie forward, although it is a bit slow and methodical at times. I enjoyed a different take on the zombie infection type stuff and this movie delivered that by displaying a more human side of what happens when someone you love begins to turn.

We all know Arnold Schwarzenegger for his testosterone-fuelled action blockbusters and, to a lesser extent, his punchline-riddled comedies, but it's very rare, if not completely unknown, that we see him in straight dramatic roles. Such is the case with Maggie, a film he apparently did for free after falling in love with the script, and for giving him a chance to do something very different. He's not taking down waves of baddies or making cheesy puns, he's simply a man caring for his ailing daughter amidst a virus-based zombie apocalypse. Arnie demonstrates that he can be affecting when he's toned down, speaking carefully and seeming agonised by his own words. Sadly, believable facial expressions are an art he still hasn't quite grasped yet, often looking like a man trying to suppress a loud burp. The scenes play out well, but the sparse material often feels like a detriment. The movies' scenario necessitates a lot of waiting, and while I liked how it captured the feeling of slowly drifting towards the inevitable, it does make you wish that something, anything, would happen. The score doesn't help, being repetitive sad piano music, and while Arnold does well with what he's given, it feels like he should have been given more. You come away from the experience being impressed by what he's done, but not feeling shocked that your expectations were shattered. It's likely to be remembered forever as ‘That Zombie film where Schwarzenegger acts', and while it certainly has its flaws, it does tug at your heartstrings enough to not feel like a complete waste of time and effort.

Not a thriller but that category is a requirement regarding anything with zombies. I think moest negative reviews are also due to it being a full dedicated slow drama with just a zombie theme part in it but nothing more. And that it is nothing like most zombie drama's that are actually action based like walking dead and other zombie movies. The movie about a father who is dealing with his precious daughter being turned into a zombie during the starting periods of the disease can hit hard when looking at it and trying to be in the shoes of the father. While because despite being big and hardy, his daughter is a clear case of being everything for him, and he remains his big and hardy character with keeping things to himself no matter the case, as it is clear that how he is raised and grown up to be, but it clearly hits him hard inside. Some might think it is weird or just crazy, but enough people/fathers out there that that stick to the end with their children in hospitals with other heavy diseases or even parents to a degree that it is unhealthy (and dangerous). And from that point it is really done well, and strangely enough can fully understand people doing it would it happen in real. (As was shown in previous years)

A kinder gentler zombie apocalypse and Arnie. A decent outing for the terminator into the drama category .

It's very rare that a film tries so hard, but fails in literally ever area: acting, directing, editing, script, and supporting cast. It tries very hard, and is somewhat endearing at times…but ultimately one to forget for all involved.

Mainly a showcase for the cast involved and an unconventional approach to the zombie genre imagined post-apocalyptical, and seemingly doesn't sit well with the audience. It deserves another look as the metaphorical underlining diagnoses the symptoms of a familiar declining health narrative as the characters cope at their best, optimistic abilities whilst strained, which defines this unconventional approach that became the primary intriguing factor. It doesn't disappoint as it impresses by differential analogies functioning adjacently but doesn't do much like others as it maintained the dreadful tone like one have already accepted the inner emptiness of succumbing to the infection. The main father-daughter pair is quite dynamically resonating as both Schwarzenegger and Breslin displayed their dramatic capability and emotionally-performed growth, respectively. Speaking of those capabilities, this horror film is only labeled through zombification but it's capable to have dramatic storytelling that can be just equally effective if nothing is terrifyingly thrilling, proving the genre has no need to follow the aged game plan.
