Meg 2: The Trench Reviews
BRING THE POPCORN! Action Packed Fun!
Meg 2: The Trench has some laughs, but the plot is all over the place.
This was a ride, so stupidly fun to watch. And Pippin the dog 2 out of 2, something that many couldn’t say.
The first movie was an interesting idea that the thermocline could house a whole new ecosystem with the meg. The second movie is filled with so much crap. When defending further into the thermocline you can see plants. Plants at the bottom of the ocean are not a thing. The dog creatures somehow evolved to live in the deep sea for centuries and can return to the surface no problem. The kraken wasn’t referred to much at all and no explanation was given. Lastly we see in the movie what happened when humans are exposed to these high pressured waters, but somehow the main character can survive it. The only excuse I can give this movie is that I believe they had to rewrite some of the movie last second. They probably couldn’t have people die inside a submarine around the same time those millionaires died in that sub.
It's bad, really bad. I don't mind over the top action, as long as it actually looks real, or at least semi real. Meg 2 delivers neither
Dj is the best it’s making me write more so i’m just gonna continue to praise the most perfect character in cinema: DJ
A lot better then the first one.
One scuba diver dies from implosion from a crack in her suit, but Jonas is able to freely swim suitless and harmless in thousands of feet deep in the ocean apparently!
Meg 2 is like a 90s hit movie but with better CGI. Logic was all over the place but who cares, sometime we need fun and simple movie to watch with family.
The first one was disappointing but this was worse. Have tried a couple times but haven't been able to watch it through to the end. Couldn't tell you what happens.
This movie was a really dump movie. It started off with a dinosaur chasing the things at the beginning of the movie. I don't know what they are called. It had a random giant octopus that attacks people. I don't know what kind of octopus its supposed to be but octopus don't attack people. Or get that big. There are giant squids and colossal squids. They are terrifying but don't attack humans. And live in the deep sea. Unless the octopus is a Kraken. But the movie doesn't explain what it is. And Krakens are fictional creatures. Other than that. I also havent seen the first one and don't want to after this movie. It's not the worst movie. It was kind of entertaining because of how dump it was. But I don't know if I can recommend.
Basic oceanic pressure does not apply...abandon all expectations and prepared to be dissatisfied.
The Meg 2: The Trench is exactly what I expected, and honestly, what I wanted from a movie about giant sharks: campy fun with over-the-top action, sleek visuals, and just enough chaos. The cinematography stood out, especially the camera transitions and underwater shots, which were beautifully done. The special effects carried their weight too, making the whole experience visually exciting. The pacing worked well. The first act transitioned smoothly into the second, where things started to intensify setting things up well and the intensity ramping up toward the finale. The acting was decent, maybe overacted at times, but it matched the tone of the movie. Sure, the script had its flaws (I mean, swimming normally at 25,000 feet below sea level? Come on), but those issues didn't ruin the experience unless you're the type of viewer who's only there to nitpick. This movie isn't meant to be serious or realistic, it's a popcorn flick through and through. If we judged every movie on plausibility, most would fail spectacularly. The Meg 2 is fun for what it is: a one-time watch that lets you escape into its ridiculous world for a couple of hours.
i feel like i'm dying?????????
Meg 2: The Trench is really good, I love it and for me Jason Statham's acting is really good STOP SAYING BAD COMMENTS ABOUT MEG please
Terrible film. Rubbish effects. Even worst acting and I was really looking forward to seeing it.,massively disappointed.
Meg 2: The Trench is a boring, highly predictable, and cliched waste of time, complete with horrible CGI and poorly written cartoon villainy.
Me encanto tuvo muchas escenas de acción y fue muy entretenida ya quiero que hagan la tercera parte AHORA.
Not quite as much fun as the original. The filmmakers don’t seem to be in in the joke as much this go-around. Thankfully, the 3rd act kicks things into outlandish creature feature fun. If only the rest of the movie followed suit.
This movie is the most intense shark movie I have ever seen. The amount of suspense is the best. I think this should be full tomato
