Miami Vice Reviews
Underrated give it a chance not sure why it gets bad score
Underrated film. Will probably be better reviewed in the next 10 years
Beautiful film. What a huge challenge to take on the absolute cheese of Miami vice, and Mann does a great job of honoring the original while also bringing it up to date.
Vale apena assistir? sim Nota: 7
This movie is just fantastic. If you are a fan of Michael Mann, you’ll appreciate the aesthetics of the movie. I really enjoy his work and the runtime doesn’t bother me, but if you don’t like the pacing of the film, I can understand how some won’t enjoy it as much. The movie is a Cool Drug Heist Noir that has aged better with time because the movie is set in 2007 and on the cusp of smart phones and social media so the cat and mouse aspects of the film play out differently then they do now. I just really enjoy the genre and the overall coolness of the film. To each their own :)
I love Michael Mann, he went on location in Uruguay, and Haiti, and called the cinematography "maximum chroma saturation". Yes it was hard to hear the dialogue. Loved the character of Isabella, as well.
Miami Vice is not the remake that we needed. Still the 2006 film has some entertaining quality to it with realistic gun shootout scenes. The film is also beautifully shot by Michael Mann but even the positives cannot save this film from the biggest failures like the lack of a compelling story and also the miscast of characters. I love Jamie Foxx, Collin Ferrell, and Noamie Harris but they all seem to be going through the generic motions here. There are a few scenes that stick out to me but that’s about it. Everything else is pretty forgettable. Miami Vice might have looked good on paper but not as a remake on the big screen. Miami Vice gets a low 1 1/2 stars out of 5.
Despite initial public aversion to this piece of cinema it holds back its ground years after premiere with thrilling noir-ish atmosphere with mostly great casting performance and decent writing.
Really good movie. No way it should have such a low rating like this.
It's a masterpiece! The bad ratings here just shows that most people have expected something that can't be done. The old crew was too old at that time and the casting is in fact perfect. From the camera to the music to the acting, everything is done the way Michael Mann saw it from the beginning when he created the series. It is a very true revival of the original series.
Action packed on the edge of your seat action Michael Mann has done it agan 5/5
Although it's often caught in this weird disconnect between attempting to distance itself from its roots and being too cool for school, Michael Mann's Miami Vice is a leaner, meaner and beautifully shot-inspired synthesis of impressionism and hyper-realism. Despite a wildly inconsistent storyline and a severe lack of charisma from its leads when compared to its television counterpart, where Miami Vice succeeds is in its woozy, disorienting, fever-dream ambience, using the moody skyline to reflect its characters, complete with a fabulous soundtrack to boot. Despite their lack of chemistry together, Foxx and Farrell are fine picks for the roles made famous by Thomas and Johnson, playing against their usual type. Often considered the one that got away from him, Miami Vice has only aged gracefully, it's a highly satisfying piece of stylish entertainment, its beauty unparalleled. Gorgeously sombre and ultimately thrilling in its execution from a man who is a master of the medium, whose obsessive concerns for detail, put images of uncommon distinction at the forefront.
Mehh this wasn't that good a movie the acting was generic to be honest and the action was uninspired despite being cool to look at at times but if you want a far better buddy cop action movie I reccomend bad boys 4/10
The movie's story was pretty basic and didn't have much going on. The only cool things about it were the music and how it looked. The music from the party scene was dope. But the main characters were always so serious, which made the whole movie kinda boring.
90/100 - really good film. acting was good, plot was good. solid all the way around no doubt why its a classic. jamie and colin play their parts well and really make you feel for the characters. its not perfect but its close.
Awful, feels like a low budget indy picture, story might be ok but barely watchable through the rest.
There is never been a movie that I didn't like in many years probably because they got bad reviews and I'm probably one of those people and sometimes I'm not and that is why Miami Vice is the one that interests me and got me bored to death already. The film by Michael Mann is based on the 온라인카지노추천 series starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas and I haven't seen the show by yet but I am planning to. Heard about it has some kick-ass tunes. Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx are both Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs but they don't have the charisma to the characters like the original show has. They're boring as hell. I really don't have the treatment as I did with the other films by Michael Mann. Even the cinematography is not as good as I expected. I keep expecting to hear a Godley & Creme song at the end of this movie. I did not enjoy Miami Vice, didn't like it, didn't enjoy it, planning on watching the 온라인카지노추천 series which is based on, you make me wanna yawn.
Solid flick with some moments where you have to suspend belief to illogical decisions made by characters. Very good cast, solid art direction but lacks charisma and passion.
I binged the show before this to get ready. Sadly there was no point since it’s barely like. Thief, Heat and Collateral are better.
